A few thoughts regarding Tre’Quan Smith...

He looked great Monday and do you know why? He’s at his best as the X receiver, which just happens to be Michael Thomas’s role. Anywhere else and he’s a square peg in a round hole.

Also, we criticize Smith’s lack of involvement but consider a veteran like Emmanuel Sanders... he was traded mid-season last year and immediately contributed to his new team as their #1 WR. He signs with us this year and with the same lack of opportunity to get practice reps with Brees thanks to COVID, he’s still trying to learn the playbook.

Anything 3quan does in a positive manner is lagniappe for me.

So since Margus Hunt and Bennie Fowler can’t be called up from the practice squad for game day again without being signed to the active roster... who do we call up this week?

Don't see how they don't promote Margus Hunt to the active roster as well as he's played and as important as he was in spelling Jordan...

If Davenport is a full-go, they'll see how long he plays until he gets nicked and has to shut down again, wouldn't take that chance at this point...

Not sure we need OL Kelly on the Active Roster...

The Saints are bringing in a familiar face for a visit in CB Ken Crawley. He was with the team from 2016-2019 and was most recently released by the Cardinals earlier this month.

Clapp just seemed to lack that nasty streak/genuine functional strength - but he played with great technique, very coachable...

He should take a year off, go to Japan, and take up Sumo Wrestling, see if he can improve the functional strength and leverage issues...
