That's a really good article about our draft history under Payton and his thought process between building the roster and tweaking it. Payton has shown that he will go after the player he feels strongly about. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But mostly he's gotten the right player in the draft since Jeff Ireland came to town.

Agreed.

Did it with Davenport and McKoy.

I see no reason why they won't do it in this year's draft.

No Head Coach has done more to defeat his teams in the history of the NFL before taking the field than Sean Payton...

A bit of hyperbole, don't you think?

So we draft LSU's Jefferson?

Burrow.
All kidding aside the more I read the more I think the Saints will wait until the middle in the draft to get a WR. From what I understand this draft is a little thin at OL and I feel like that may be where they spend their first pick.
Don’t know if I like it but as long as we get a Wr that can make an impact week 1 I’m happy.

Jefferson is the real deal. I think he's gone in the teens.

There may be some who say he played a lot in the slot (in which he did) however he has ability to play on the outside as well. Body control, instincts, already familiar with Pro concepts & is polished as a route runner.

My LSU homer glasses are off ... JJ is very good WR Pro prospect and was solid before Burrow arrived at LSU .

His combine & Pro Day performances are just gravy for him.

Trust the tape.

Wouldn't be sad if we took Jefferson as he'd be a quick-study in adapting to the Saints offense, but I'd be surprised Sean took an LSU player...

However Reagor's plays the game so much faster and with it being a copy-cat league, Saints, specifically Sean, will want his own Tyreek Hill sans off-the-field drama...

Having that home-run threat on every play will open this offense up as when we had Cooks and Thomas at the same time which was as lethal as anything the KC Chiefs have had recently...
