Rate the O-line
The New Orleans Saints return last years dominant offensive line again. Rate your O-Line players and tell us what you do or don't like about each starter or back-up. I'll start.
1) Ram. No explanation needed. Future All Pro left tackle? 2) McCoy. He was a great rookie but he has room to grow. I'll be glad when he takes over the line calls. 3) Armstead. He's a stud when healthy and will miss games but he's a dominant left tackle. 4) Warford. Waste of space last year. No wonder we didn't extend his contract. 5) Peat. He spends more time on his seat than his feet and I'm hoping he is trade bait. Personally, I hope that we draft a nasty interior player from a small school who develops. |
Re: Rate the O-line
See the rams, falcons, and vikings game.
We need help inside. That's Drew's place to step up. Cant do it because someone is always getting their ass handed to them. Most noticeably Peat |

At camp I sit right in front of the O-Line because Drew is right there. I don't understand the conceptual thinking of an O-lineman. I can only judge them by my own eyes and Peat has never looked good to me. |
Re: Rate the O-line
We used to have bad ass guards. Time to get back to that.

Re: Rate the O-line
Why pay Peat $$$ - the guy is awful - save it on Ram’s new contract

Re: Rate the O-line
Our vaunted O line seems to get blown up in the post season. Maybe I was wrong in thinking how good they are. I'm speaking specifically at the GUARD positions.
Playoff games are won and lost in the trenches. Our line seems to get manhandled in the post season. Our OL needs a serious shift in culture. |

Now, don't think Peat gets enough tip-of-the-hats for some of the injuries he's played through (pins in the hand playing football - excruciating)... My criticism of Peat was when he showed up at Yulman to see a professional athelete overweight, out-of-shape, winded running onto the field - no excuse... But Major is right, when the competition became elite (Frisco in the Dome, Reg Season, Must Have Drives), some Guards have shrunk from the challenge... The guy that I thought I got to much credit was Warford, usually when you need short yardage you go strong-side and move people, we had more success off-tackle than inside trap... Warford was the kind of signing I hate, a consolation pick where we spent money set aside on a guy who showed all the signs of coasting, mailing it in once he got the Big Mo'... We should've spent a little more, had the best LG in the NFL - Kevin Zeitler (picked with our traded pick in 2012 NO>NE>CIN), am sure he'd rather be in NO than that sh*t-show in CLE... Jury is still out on Erik McCoy, but early indications are trending up; some exchange issues with Brees, but those will get better with reps; better reads, calls will come with experience... Ramczyk has played like an All-Pro since he suited up and should've gotten the recognition and more he received this past season since that amazing rookie game at LT vs Minnesota... But we've got trouble in River City at Guard; fortunately the contracts are not so bad we can't get out of 'em; our line will be a Top 5 unit minimum... And that gives Brees something to work with on Sundays... |
