If we somehow land an elite player (see C Jordan, Ryan Ramz) in the 1st, so be it.

From NFL Scouting Service...

The size and production should force all evaluators to dial their focus in on what he's best at rather than any perceived areas of concern. He has average instincts against the run and is a step slow to shed, but he's strong at the point and he does his job. (He) won't just out-run tackles to the edge, but he's a skilled rusher whose diversity of attack, skilled hands and unique bull-rushing instincts could help him deliver his college sack production in the pros. He can play end in a 4-3 or 3-4 and could leap from good to great with additional work on technique and explosiveness.

DE Cam Jordan, Cal; Height: 6' 4"; Weight: 287 lbs.;

40 - 4.78 sec; Vertical - 31"; Broad Jump - 117"

DE A. J. Epenesa, Iowa; Height: 6' 4"; Weight: 275 lbs.

40 - 5.04 sec; Vertical - 32.5"; Broad Jump - 117"

I'm not worried about the 40 - that's long speed and I don't want him chasing people down from behind; burst with power - that's in the Vertical and Broad Jump - that's what matters...

And then of course, there's the production...

(From NFL.com

Epenesa was a three-time high school All-American and first-team All-State pick in football (wearing jersey No. 99 to emulate J.J. Watt), scored over 1,000 career points in basketball and won back-to-back state discus throw titles. Hawkeyes coaches put their highly regarded recruit in the rotation as a true freshman, and he recorded 15 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 13 games. Epenesa did not start any games in his sophomore season, either, behind veterans Parker Hesse and Anthony Nelson. He still garnered second-team All-Big Ten honors, though, by leading the Big Ten with 10.5 sacks and topping Iowa's defense with 16.5 tackles for loss (among 37 total) and four forced fumbles. As a junior, Epenesa came on strong at the end of the year, receiving second-team Associated Press All-American and first-team all-conference accolades with 49 tackles, 14.5 for loss, and 11.5 sacks along with four forced fumbles in 13 starts.

And the film (see highlights)...

I'd also add that he has the versatility to kick inside to the 3T, as there's some film of this against offensive linemen to be in the NFL...
I don’t want another Kikiha situation where we get blinded by the college production only for those physical limitations to become glaring at the next level. I also think he’ll be a better 3-4 end than a 4-3 end. I think he’d make a great 3 technique, but I wouldn’t go there in the 1st.

We’ll be getting a 3rd round comp pick for Bridgewater next year so I would offer the Jags a 2021 3rd rounder to move up to 20 ahead of the Eagles for Justin Jefferson.

Just because it’s a deep WR class doesn’t mean the right guy who can come in and be productive will be available if we sit back and wait.

WR Jalen Reagor held a virtual pro day and ran a hand-timed 4.22 forty. If you account for the normal 0.15 reaction time that puts him around 4.37. He weighed in 10 lbs lighter than at the combine so this is probably more indicative of his speed.

I would rather have Tee Higgins in the 1st, Colston's clone. I would also find a way to pick up a 7th for Juwan Johnson from Oregon to stach back if possible.

Matt Peart OT Conn.(steal) should be there in the 3rd when we pick , along with Albert Okwuegbunam TE in the 4th. Both these to go along with Higgins opens this O completely up for whatever Payton can scheme up. All Brees has to do is deliver the ball.Keshawn Vaughn RB added in the 5th and were just about impossible to stop. Deep ball, 2 TE set, 3 headed running attack, slot, screen, it's all there when wanted.

4.22 huh? He'll shoot up on a teams draft board with that time. Not really all that surprised though. For whatever reason, he may have had the combine "jitters" but we all knew this cat was fast. The tape shows it.

I read a speculative article on trading Kamara, #24 and a future pick to get #3 from Detroit.

Hmmmmm

Re: 2020 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints

The more I read, the more that I want to draft a tight end this year and I wouldn't mind using an early mid round pick for the right player. The two tight end set is ideal for Drew since his deep balls are questionable now. It happens when people get older but there is still no one better at the game. Sanders will help with the underneath stuff as well.

I still want a lineman with our first pick if the value is there. I'd prefer to move a mobile tackle inside to play guard if one is available. If not I've read about several mid round projects that might work in our system.
