Well, if Ruggs is gone before 15, don't be surprised if Denver takes Jefferson. There's been a ton of talk about the Broncos really liking Jefferson over the past 2 weeks.

Re: Will Saints draft from LSU?
I never understood the obsession and perceived shunning of LSU players.
Is there any pro team that uses a local college as a pipeline? small sample size, but for what it's worth: There were 53 All-Pro selections including 2nd team and ST. Exactly one was drafted by a team in the same state where he attended college. |

LSU won the National Championship and is loaded with talented players who will likely fit our system. I believe that their head coach(Ed Orgeron?) was an assistant with the Saints and comes from the Payton coaching tree. So, it's quite likely there are numerous LSU prospects on our draft board. Let's not forget the Ohio State connection though....the force is strong with that One university. |

Re: Will Saints draft from LSU?
I hear sometimes here, from some posters that Sean Payton has an apparent
tendency to not draft from LSU, which might make sense. It seems there could be a potential distraction, and unrealistic expectations, not to mention the perceived "entourage" effect, from having your old friends nearby. Is this real? I'd like to know. |

Nobody is saying it should be a feeder for the Saints, but LSU players shouldn't be discounted because they grew up within an hour of where the Saints are located.
