this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Eli Apple would be about as good of a back-up CB as you can get and we have no depth at boundary CB....

Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
For those who play the "JP, Warford made the ProBowl" Card, just remember, Ramczyk didn't...
Further, Warford sat between Unger and Ramczyk (who had an unheralded rookie lineman season for the ages); and then between McCoy and Ramczyk (who was even better)... And if you're not familiar with Peat's contract, it'll be next year when we can afford to take the hit... And Warford doesn't play Left Tackle in a pinch as Peat has often had to do with Mr. Glass' history... We also need cap money - NOW. We've got to extend Kamara, and then there's the contracts of Ramczyk and Lattimore... Oh, you've also got Mr. Marcus, Anzalone, and Hendrickson that'll need to be addressed... And still further, Rankins will also be walking without a contract after this year... This, by far was the easiest lineman to cut now to stage, spread out the painful cuts so the team can retain its younger impact free agents... And Last Year, while Warford still had value, was the time to move, trade him; we'd had more draft picks and even more cap space... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
Depth is a concern again. Armstead and Peat are always nicked. The law of averages will land on the other three sooner or later.

Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
Peat's injury history is recent, mostly to the last two years, and he did play injured, in a playoff game, with pins in his hand, one week post-op; Mr. Glass is a whole 'nother case...

Re: Saints Cut G Larry Warford
Telling that after free agency and the draft there were no takers for a "Pro Bowl Guard"....
Peat will play better this year. I predict a min 76 grade from PFF. If we want to resign guys like Ram, AK41 and Lattimore, we had to lose Warford and his contract. |
