Back in the day, my dad purchased a 'pre owned' 1974 MB 450 SLC from a retired doctor in the Hammond area. We traveled a lot by car in the late 80's in that machine. AC blew ice cold, the natuzzi leather was soft/comfortable & it ran as smooth as butter on the highway. It's even been to Windsdor Canada twice. Not one mechanical issue. By the time it was on it's last leg, Dad had well over 225k on the odometer. Bullet proof German engineering.

But yeah, I hear you. Mercedes Benz simply don't engineer their automobiles like they used to.
Only 225K?

Two years ago today my 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 5 speed manual hit 3000,000.Click image for larger version

ID:	13434 Yes I took a picture! No repairs to engine, clutch or transaxle. Regular upkeep, oil and filter change every 3,000 miles. Today it reads 334,456 which is equal to the longest USA coast to coast drive 100 times.

Don't worry it won't be long history will repeat itself..
Imagine this; 10/27/2007. Pierre Thomas's first season. The very first game I took my Wife to and it was against Atlanta. Reggie Bush scored with around five minutes left in the game which we won 22-16. The look on my Wife's face was priceless when she first saw the field and was like a child at Christmas when we were walking out singing. Why do I bring this up? Because we were walking out of the Louisiana Superdome. It is what is was then, and has always been called, by us, Superdome or Louisiana Superdome.

Tom Benson owned Mercedes Benz of New Orleans ans without a doubt was key in the naming rights process. I suspect the license expired and with out Tom being around to secure an extension it went elsewhere.

Atlanta missed the mark. 'Viagra Dome - Rise Up' would have endured centuries

Except they still couldn't get it up. Their one best chance they went limp.

I just remember liking it being called "The Louisiana Superdome" before they went all commercial.

Two things about using the strippers sponsor. We are a family run organization and that would never fly...….OK it's only one thing.

Watching Married with children last night and during the baseball strike Al and the boys played games sponsored by......you guessed it. The nudie bar.

As long as Louisiana politics stay the way they have been none of these companies would ever step foot in Louisiana. It’s a shame because it would be an economical game changer.

I’ve always hated corporate naming of stadiums too. It’s freakin embarrassing.

Bowl games have become the stadium naming-lite version.

Tabasco is big enough. I've travelled to 32 countries - tabasco was there. Everywhere coke is - I'd be willing to bet Tabasco is there too. Went to Prague right after the Iron Curtain came down and at the restaurant we ate in there was tabasco on the table. Think of the restaurants that have it, then the people who have it. Tabasco has been on the shelves of every grocery store in the USA that I've been to. STEP UP TABASCO!!! Do the HOME Team a solid.
