The player that will replace Emmanuel Sanders at the No. 2 spot is not going to Tre'quan Smith - he just doesn't have the fire...

At this point and stage of his career, I think Tre is what he is ... unfortunately.

Smith has had his moments but not very many of them. It's his 3rd year yada yada yada....

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ty Montgomery playing a lot of wide receiver this year. If he is Kamara's back up then he sits on the bench. If we play him as the third wide out then we'll have three capable receivers on the team. If he catches on fast enough maybe he could hold down two positions and we still get his talents on the field.

I have little doubt he'll be used as more than Kamara's backup. We have so many players now that can play different positions that the combinations are endless. This is getting exciting!

As I've stated before, am curious if Thomas stays at the X on third downs now as he's been moved into the slot, and done a lot of damage, because of the lack of reliable 3rd slot personnel...

Sanders does a lot of damage out of the slot as well. Sanders, Thomas, Montgomery, and Kamara give them a lot of versatility in that role. Thomas and Sanders are going to go crazy this year.

As it pertains to Smith, third year is a make or break time for players. It would great he ascended to the point where he could at the very least fill in that Tedd Ginn/Devery Henderson spot. I lost faith in him, but I’m hoping for the best. When he does shine he shines pretty bright.
