Which Saints player deserves a 10-year contract?

In theory yes, should function similarly to rookie contracts. However, a player starts out performing his contract value, which for elite QBs is three years, the agents start pressuring the team and the player threatens or holds out.

From a player's perspective they can manage cash flow for the next 10 years but miss the big free agency payday. The player is nothing more than trade material for his entire career.

There is no real incentive for the team outside of spreading cap. Mahomes contract is a publicity stunt.

LUKE McCOWN OF COURSE!!!! ALL SAINTS FANS COULD SLEEP SOUNDLY KNOWING THE BEST BACKUP QB TO NEVER WIN A GAME FOR SAINTS WILL BE THERE TO COME CLOSE ENOUGH TO LOSE ANYTIME HE'S NEEDED!!! COULD PROBABLY LOCK HIM UP FOR 10 YEARS AT $8 MILLION TOTAL!!!
