No. History doesn't guarantee future. Who ever the guy in the video is will obviously entertain any discussion regardless of how absurd.

The Chiefs did what they had to do to lock up their Franchise player. Good for them. But 10 years?

Like they said in that movie... "Anything can happen. Anything happens all the time."

It actually only has guarantees for the first three years. After that it is solely roster and workout bonuses and a minimal base salary. They can release him anytime after those first three years with no dead cap whatsoever.

I’d give Michael Thomas and Ryan Ramczyk 10 year deals.

Not to mention that a 10 year deal isn't worth the paper it is written on with the evolving market. Players struggle to make 3 before demanding a restructure for more money.

Guaranteed is all that is relevant, players hold out and teams trade or cut.

The Chiefs just secured the ability to get something back for Mahommes should he become a liability within the next 10 years.

The organization wins if you can lock somebody up for 10 years at current market value when the money goes up from year to year.

That's why it is so common in MLB where all contracts are guaranteed. But then again, the lifetime of a baseball player in the sport is probably three times longer.
