With multiple guys opting out to prioritise family safety (rightfully so), why is the NFL still pushing this?

These are unforeseen times, acting as if a global pandemic isn't happening right now is absurd. At least postpone the season now and potentially start late.

Because advertisers want it, networks want it, and the vast majority of both players and fans want it. Why not?

Because it's unsafe to do so and they are only thinking of money.

Who is it so unsafe for? Perhaps some of the older coaches and staff IF there were no safety protocols. Testing is going to be so intensive and the protocols so strict that most people connected to the league would be safer playing than not playing, to be honest. And I have yet to hear of any of the players that have been tested as positive that were not asymptomatic.

That being the case, it does not stop the fact that one lapse in protocol could effectively take an entire team down, not to mention those players potentially going home and putting loved ones at risk. I know a few people who have tested positive with little to no symptoms.

I just think it's a little irresponsible for them to go ahead and start. I want to watch the Saints play, but not at the risk of them losing a family member over it. Especially, when from Rogers perspective, it looks entirely money driven.

So if a couple guys from your company don't want to go to work because the office is dealing with mold, you should be forced to stay home and lose your check?

That is what you are saying with "just postpone the season"... Contrary to popular misunderstanding only Drew Brees and Tom Brady are as wealthy as Drew Brees and Tom Brady, the rest of the league needs game checks to feed their family.

This is like me watching teachers cry and whine on social media about children going back to school... Teachers have job security, the single mother with a 3rd and 7th grader needs those kids in school so she can go to work and feed them.

For centuries generations have endured famine, recession, pandemic, earth quakes, deadly storms.. now we just phucking stay home and hide in closets because things get a little difficult or different...

Something about RG rubs me the wrong way. He just reeks of garbage filled with loaded diapers for some reason. I'm not a clairvoyant but I really sense it.

You've been on this site for ten years now so you KNOW why Goodell rubs you the wrong way. It begins with "Bounty Gate". He's a trash commissioner for the biggest and most prolific league in the United States. It took the previous NFL Commissioner to step in and show Goodell that he was stupid for what he did to the Saints but his actions were irreversible by then.
