Even if Brees had retired I would rather have a younger guy back there. At least Payton and Loomis are always working hard at getting talent on this team no matter the cost. It was infuriating years ago when the team looked at the sub par talent in the locker room and thought "yeah, these guys should do." and never strived for greatness. Only okay-ness.
