Re: Saints at Raiders Wednesday Injury Report
From USA Today SaintsWire: New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton commented on Marcus Davenport’s elbow injury, saying that he doesn’t expect the DE to be sidelined long
That said, if the time missed was expected to be more than two weeks he would have been placed on (what gosaints1 brought to light) the 3 week IR. Unlimited players can be placed on this and returned after three weeks. There is no reason to bring him back this week if he was truly needed to take on the Raiders. I'm just happy to see Ruiz back out there. I have no doubt that Davenport will have a very material impact on our success this season. |

Re: Saints at Raiders Wednesday Injury Report
Unless Davenport balls out and stays on the field the rest of the year I will be ready to call him a bust. You can have all the athleticism and talent in the world but if you can’t stay on the field it means squat. If he was a late round pick or an USFA he would have a little value maybe but given the draft circumstances that ain’t the case.

Re: Saints at Raiders Wednesday Injury Report
I love Davenport’s ability when he does play but I’ll never understand why we felt the need to make that investment in him. Super raw coming out of college, showed up to training camp in year two out of shape because he was battling mental health issues, now he’s not playing yet in year three.
