Jenkins....I don't trust the chemistry with him back.

As mentioned above I feel the same way about Sanders. Doesn’t help that Sanders had drops. Drew won’t have any confidence in him and I can see Sanders resenting him.
On a positive note Smith looked good.
I think we will shake this off. After week 4 we will know what this team really is.

Did anyone notice the great numbers Brees put up, thanks to the Raiders prevent defense and some serious stat boosting during pure garbage time at the end of the game? Can you say Jim Everett impersonation...

No player masters the Saints offense in year one. I don't expect Sanders to turn it on until around week 8

But something is not right ... is it because he not processing the flow of the field as efficiently, causing hesitation in his decision making. Which then rushes his normal game flow causing the inaccurate throws. Kinda sorta making it look like he is under pressure.

Or has there been a slight change to his throwing motion that brought about the touted increase in arm strength. Has that change, if there indeed was one, thrown off his anticipation and timing with his throws.

It’s early days but there has to be a clock ticking in the organization.

Of a more immediate concern to me is the defensive performance. With the talent Dennis Allen has he seem unable to make the necessary in game adjustments to his game plan. And his starting game day plan ain’t that great too start with.

Not sold on the 6 DB’s playing everywhere that might be Disrupting the defense more than causing confusion for the opposing QB.

Per Barstool Sabermetrics, DB has the 2nd shortest avg pass attempt length (4.8 yards) out of any QB in the past 15 years.

No def coordinator will respect the deep ball until DB proves otherwise.

Love what he's brought to the game, City of New Orleans but folks DB is 41 years old and entering his 20th NFL season. The end is near.

You already know how I feel about it bro. The end is already here. He’ll have some games and some moments where we’re all like “there he is”! But a Super Bowl? Not with that arm.

Team played more complimentary football without DB#9 last year, as a team, than anytime I can remember in the last five or six years. There was a hunger, and awareness that if I, individually, don’t do my job, we WILL lose games. I’m not saying DB#9 needs to be benched, nor should be. I am saying: THAT “legend” no longer exists on the field, only in our memories.

Funny thing about that 4.8 yards pass length is that it’s tied for the worst in the air pass length, since 2009 (our SB year) with one other player. That player? Brett Favre from our NFC championship opponent the Vikings. So..., dinking and dunking can get you there. But, then and now, the younger, hungrier, stronger and faster team will win the championships.

Don’t believe me? Look at our last three seasons.

Drew’s arm is toast. That’s evident by the inaccuracy and lack of deep balls. The int was embarrassing. I think we still win the South but major changes have to occur with our quarterback play and secondary if we want to advance in the playoffs. Can’t dink and dunk to a super bowl victory.

Coach loves wasting timeouts on challenges he has no chance of winning. It’s mind boggling every year.

Manning did but his D was way better. They tried everything in the book on Waller; not much worked. They played well then stunk then got better. A good butt kicking. Green Bay will be a strong indicator if they have it a fourth year in a row or not.

GB will be a big game to see if the Saints can challenge at championship level. This team, imho, still is the team to beat in the NFC South. Atlanta? No, they create ways to lose games, in ways nobody has ever done before. Carolina? Disaster, even greater disaster without CM for five or six weeks. And I just haven’t bought into the TB/TB “crowning” yet.

Waller wanted to “win” early on, and that mindset was infectious to all other players. It’s no different when Thomas is on the field..., he refuses to fail. Every. Single. Play. imho, that mentality was missing last game, along with the player who espouses it. Leadership comes in many forms, not just from the “older” vets.

Week 2 does not a season make.
