Re: Sean Payton says Saints 'looked like a high school team' defending these types of plays vs. Packers
Glad he admits it.

Now if he’ll admit his offensive play calling needs to be less predictable, then we might actually move forward

Recognize the value of full 4 game preseason?

Re: Sean Payton says Saints 'looked like a high school team' defending these types of plays vs. Packers
Offenses across the league are scoring on a record pace. Defenses are way behind everywhere. I have heard several coaches saying that this isn't what they expected.
As for four game preseasons, they are a thing of the past. With the regular season expanding to 17 games and likely a second bye week two preseason games will be the max. If the NFLPA gets their way they could disappear completely. They would be missed less had we had OTA's and mini-camps. That was the killer. |

Teams that have invested heavily in their offensive lines, like the Saints, are getting screwed because the NFL's officials are not flagging holding to the same standard as last season, previous seasons... Also injuries are way up, and that is being looked at as a direct causation to a lack of PreSeason games... |

None other than to improve ratings. Right or wrong, I do believe there is a discrete and identifiable reason for a changing of the “standards”. Last thing the NFL wants is lot’s of 9-6 games right now. Not trying to say ratings are a complete dumpster fire, (looking at you AG, lol, and not wanting to necro an argument that’s already been heavily debated, lol), bc ratings aren’t a complete dumpster fire, they’re still the best thing on TV, but they definitely ain’t what the NFL would like to see. Follow the money, you’ll find what the NFL values. |

The Chiefs, GB, Titans, Chicago & the Steelers sure don't seem to be having much trouble getting out of the gate quickly.
Most of the Saints roster was in tact, not to mention Sean and Brees have been in the system over a decade. |
