The NFL is more entertainment than sport which is evident in the gradual changing of rules to make it more entertaining and appealing to a larger audience. We look at things game to game, season to season, but the Benson's know they owe Sean Payton and Drew Brees for a massive increase in revenue and team value over the last 11 seasons. We as fans (whether we want to admit it or not) owe the as well, they changed the Saints for us in a positive way. 2006- present (14 years) 8 seasons over .500 +1SB 1967 - 2005 (38 years) 7 seasons over .500 We can say they are damaging the team all we like but in fact they forged what this team is. It is Sean Payton with his good and bad qualities that gave us pride in our team and allowed the bags away. That doesn't begin to cover what they have done for the city and state, and while some will rebut with 'they were paid well'; yes they were, and delivered more value to Louisiana than any of its paid politicians have. Those two guys are bigger than our tiny football world. |

After Brees is done, these same posters spouting about Brees demise will be commenting the good ole days when Brees was the offense field general (if there conscious allows) |
