N/S Dak Prescott
First off I hope he is ok and is able to bounce back from this, I hate to see an injury like that to any player. I always thought he would do very well in a Saints uniform under Payton and would still love to see him here if he recovers. He was holding out for $45 mil before he was tagged which may have been steep for us given the players we need to sign this offseason. I can see this being a situation where we could get him at a fair price on a two year deal. Hill will be there if Dak isn’t ready until later in the season. Could be a win/win. It’s a sad situation. Franchise tag players worst nightmare. Thoughts?

Re: N/S Dak Prescott
The Cowboys have to be thrilled. They didn’t give him the big $$ contract and now he’s damaged goods. I think it’s disgusting and the franchise tag should be abolished.

Totally agree. At least require the team and league to pay some form of compensation beyond just an injury settlement. Don’t know how one would structure it but it could be based on where the contract talks stalled for a year or something.

Re: N/S Dak Prescott
The NFLPA should insure their prized earners so that he gets at least 50% of what he would get current market value that he was at the time of injury...

Re: N/S Dak Prescott
Poor Dak. He had to play football for a measly 31 million dollars. More money than most people make working their whole lives. Heck, ten life times. Even if he never played another down, if he's not set for life, it's his own fault. He was offered 100+ million dollars on a long term deal. He CHOSE to turn that down in hopes of making more. He CHOSE to play for 31 million. The highest end salary the market bares. I'm sorry that the guy broke his leg and in such a gruesome way. I hope he recovers fully and he's able to resume his career if he chooses and makes millions of dollars in the process. But, forgive me if I save my concern for those far less blessed.

Shame what happen to Dak.
If the cowboys see it as bigger than a game, hopefully they still sign him to a good contract... he was having such a great year. |

Re: N/S Dak Prescott
Saints, unlikely as it was, win a wild card spot and with memories of 2010 head to Dallas to play the 6-10 east winning cowboys. In an unprecedented move Dak had his leg amputated in favor of a prosthetic. Seeing how well that worked for him he had the other amputated and now runs a staggering 146 mph and leaps 12 feet. Which he uses to help his 6-10 Cowboys defeat the Saints. After the game Drew apparently retired but it was difficult to make out as he was still helping Malcolm feel better about people honoring the flag of their country.
