We notice it with the Saints, but it is going on across the league. They pointed out that the better teams in the league (they included the Saints) are all giving up big numbers. Opposing teams are throwing more to attempt to keep up with the scoring. The cutback on offensive holding and the lack of crowd noise are also factors.

The only thing that would stop that would be if he stopped catching everything that is thrown his direction. When he returns he will logically be the primary option and as long as he is open the ball will go his way more times than not. The same is true with every elite receiver that has ever played the game, regardless of team or coach.

That is a good point Guido. However, the big plays and TD's are coming off blown coverages, and the defense pointing fingers at each other is not a good look. That doesn't inspire confidence!

We tend to only remember the blown plays. Exactly how many of those passing touchdowns actually came off blown coverages and how many came off pass plays in the red zone?

Back to Callaway. I knew he was going to play even better after his game playing returner and WR. I even started a thread about him because I was so impressed with his play and field awareness. |
