The talent is there and I'm expecting improvement as the season progresses. They were talking this very subject (defenses lagging behind the offenses) on Moving the Chains earlier this afternoon. We notice it with the Saints, but it is going on across the league. They pointed out that the better teams in the league (they included the Saints) are all giving up big numbers. Opposing teams are throwing more to attempt to keep up with the scoring. The cutback on offensive holding and the lack of crowd noise are also factors.

We tend to only remember the blown plays. Exactly how many of those passing touchdowns actually came off blown coverages and how many came off pass plays in the red zone?
