As many a fan here have stated, the team has the GOAT QB, maybe even HC also. And yet in the CSP and DB#9 years the team has one, single, solitary conference championship and SB.
Eli Manning has two, and he’s as average a QB as one can get. If the Saints dynamic duo are as great as what many here state, then why aren’t there more championships?
Offensive player homer’s always point to the defense as the weakness. While Defensive player homer’s point to the offense not scoring enough. Bottom line is there should have been more championships, conference and SB, than just one with the GOAT QB at the helm. Only one thing matters to me:
Production
And the only way to measuring that production is success, or lack of it, ultimately it’s who wins the SB. Only one team succeeds every year. As a great fictional American once quipped: “If you ain’t first..., you’re last”.
Ah! I get it. 1978. Just a newbie.
There are now 32 teams in the NFL. "Should have been more championships" are rare for all but a very small few. The Saints have experienced more success than many in a much smaller market.
