I’ll reserve judgement until after I see either in a game plan tailor made for them. Whoever they play they need to leave them in there long enough to establish a rhythm.

Won't happen. That's never been the Payton offense. Cycling personnel and packages is an integral part of the offense.

Just from the small sample we saw in the 2nd half Sunday, Payton's typical mixins didn't seem to bother Winston too much.

What I wonder is how is red zone offense going to operate. It got tough for Winston inside the 10 both times the Saints got in there.

It takes a special touch and vision inside the ten. That's what makes Brees so great down close. He's automatic.

This is a good point. I can’t remember how we used Hill last year when Teddy took over. No matter the situation now, we can’t have Hill playing his normal role.

Well according to NFL.com they are saying Drew could be ok in 2 weeks!!!

I find that hard to believe with the injuries he is carrying at the moment!

Could that really be the case?

Hill. But, let him be a QB first. Let him run in certain situations. Let him throw the 5 to 15 yard passes Drew throws. Let him roll out with simple reads. Let him run if the pocket breaks down. Hill is a bad***. But, that has been in limited snaps. He will not last a full game running first and trying to run over people. Instruct him to slide or run our of bounds after achieving first downs. He can be a better version of the Ravens Jackson. I truly believe that.

I have never been a Winston fan. Never will be. I hope he proves me wrong as I believe Payton will choose him.

Tony Romo suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung in OT back in 2011 and played in the very next game EIGHT days later.

There are differing degrees of rib fractures and lung collapses. A severe collapse would require hospitalization. A minor/partial collapse can heal completely in less than two weeks. The same with the ribs. Brees came into this past game with three broken ribs.

Re: Taysom or Jameis?

Winston could have had two INTs in just a half of a game and the way he holds the ball while scrambling he could have easily been stripped as well. He'll probably get the start with Taysom in the red zone. Heaven help us.

I'd love to see a full game of Taysom at the wheel. I'd love to see Payton the mad scientist develop a game plan taking advantage of his abilities. I doubt it will happen though.

Re: Taysom or Jameis?

Jameis will start and Taysom will actually play LESS snaps than usual just like last year because he has to focus on being the only backup QB now.
