I had high hopes for Taysom when he got in the last game, but those were dashed by 2 plays. Mesh concept where had Sanders or Cook, both wide open. He had an absolute boat load of time and still took a sack. Then trying to put the game away for good he fumbled. Jameis doesn't seem to have any other play than the bullet pass either, its just a throw and hope. |

Re: Taysom or Jameis?
I’ll reserve judgement until after I see either in a game plan tailor made for them. Whoever they play they need to leave them in there long enough to establish a rhythm.

Just from the small sample we saw in the 2nd half Sunday, Payton's typical mixins didn't seem to bother Winston too much. What I wonder is how is red zone offense going to operate. It got tough for Winston inside the 10 both times the Saints got in there. SFIAH |

Re: Taysom or Jameis?
Hill. But, let him be a QB first. Let him run in certain situations. Let him throw the 5 to 15 yard passes Drew throws. Let him roll out with simple reads. Let him run if the pocket breaks down. Hill is a bad***. But, that has been in limited snaps. He will not last a full game running first and trying to run over people. Instruct him to slide or run our of bounds after achieving first downs. He can be a better version of the Ravens Jackson. I truly believe that.
I have never been a Winston fan. Never will be. I hope he proves me wrong as I believe Payton will choose him. |

Taysom is not a NFL QB. He's a gimmick player. Every time we ask him to pass, he looks like a high school QB trying to make his first start. His footwork is terrible, he's inaccurate, he hesitates, ZERO pocket awareness and he can't read the field. Once again on Sunday, he was given a pass and missed a wide open Cook over the middle. Winston is the better QB, though he's very flawed himself. |

I just don't see that happening. Winston was given EVERY opportunity in Tampa to succeed. He did not. ![]()
-Hill can absolutely be a NFL QB. He's smart. He's tough. He's fearless. He's so far beyond a gimmick player it's ridiculous. For his contributions, he's easily one of the MVP's on the team. I actually like his small body of work at QB. Would love to see more. Every QB misses passes. The current offense genuinely fits him more than Winston. Short to intermediate passing except now with benefits. The plus's being the RPO's which will utilize Kamara and Murray more. His superior ability to not only get first downs with his running but the possibility of chunk plays and TD's in the redzone with his legs. More opportunities to control the clock and thus more rest for the defense. His lack of tape making him harder to defense. His arm strength over Brees brings the deep ball back in play in a surprise type fashion. I like his potential. I believe in his upside. I believe the Saints will win more games this season with Hill starting over Winston. Hill is fun to watch and easy to root for. -Payton will choose Winston. It is a real choice. It has real consequences for the Falcons game, into next season and beyond. I absolutely hope the Saints win with Winston under center. I fear Brees retiring after this season and the Saints signing Winston to a high salaried, long term deal. I believe it would be a mistake. |
