Malcolm Jenkins
Who's ready for a lively debate?
I wasn't thrilled when the Saints didn't sign Bell and signed Jenkins because I felt like Jenkins might give the Saints an average year or two of play. I think that most of us thought that Bell would be a better option that would play for the Saints for many years. The Whodat Confessional guys assume that when Patrick Robinson balled out a few games ago Jenkins must've been a big reason why since Robinson hadn't really played great until recently. And none of us can argue that this defense is really stepping up (although the teams they've played lately aren't at the top of the league.) For me, I still hate the contrived situation created by the talking heads that a few players ate up and then turned on Drew but the Jenkins signing might actually be working for the Saints. I hope we see a new angry Drew when he comes back and this team runs the table because in the games he's started so far he looks aloof and I blame Jenkins for that. |

Re: Malcolm Jenkins
Well...for me (and I know this is just my opinion), a players play doesn't erase what they do. I'm not a MJ fan. Haven't been for years. And if we sign a guy that's coming in and needs a 2nd chance, I can deal. But Jenkin's attitude and that whole Brees thing really pissed me off.
I'm sure I'm on a lonely island here, but it's the same reason why I wouldn't want a guy like OBJ. They may be talented, but they're douchebags. And I'd rather not have them. Just my opinion. I'd rather cheer for an up and coming guy or a guy that works his ass off. Leave the drama and ****ty attitudes out of it. I question what MJs attitude would be if we were 2-9, not 9-2. But he's a Saint. So I'll cheer for the defense and be happy if he makes a play. He's just not my kind of player. I guess at 42 years old, I'm just a little more about team players. But I respect other people's opinions. |

I'm just thinking that he's actually helping the defense play better. |

Re: Malcolm Jenkins
I don’t agree with any of it. But I wear my mask in public too. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.

While the results of the defense have been great, the real test is coming with the Chiefs and our ability to not have to go through Green Bay... Jenkins' play has been old, slow, poor, and he'll be exposed in the playoffs; and I'd say it whether I liked the jackhole or not... Hated when we drafted him over Clay Matthews, and hated that we brought the older version back when we ought to have let Gardner move into that role and grabbed another true cornerback... |

Re: Malcolm Jenkins
Apparently the concept of rhetorical questions allude some people. I want to commend our friend, Rugby, who while he also continues to harbor some animosity toward Malcolm Jenkins, also has confessed on multiple occasions that he has a character flaw which prohibits him from from abandoning a grudge.
![]() The point I was trying to achieve with iceshack was to get the same from him on why if Brees and his teammates are able to forgive and forget and move on, what is the hurdle keeping him from doing the same, especially since the event has nothing personally to do with himself. |

Re: Malcolm Jenkins
He has been helping the defense lately.
However in terms of personality and as a player, I still preferred Vonn Bell. |
