That doesn’t seem right to me.
And at any point to your recollection did any of them ever claim that "Brees is an ignorant racist"? Asking you as a third party here, Boston, to the debate.

Ignorant, yes. I don’t remember teammates calling him racist, no. One could say it was implied. But again, his initial statements were about his feelings and he was scorned for expressing them. Is he not allowed those ?

Of course he is, as was those in their responses. In private they all met and discussed it all and it was resolved to their mutual satisfaction. They all moved on to what is becoming a very successful season.

Yet some seem to stay fixated for some reason. If it mean nothing to those directly involved then why should it remain so disturbing to others? Perplexing, no?

Re: Malcolm Jenkins

I guess I don’t see where anyone in the thread here expressed anything to say they weren’t over the situation. It’s just talk to fill up time between Saints games. And going back to the initial statements, sure Many players( Brees included) expressed their opinions, but Brees was the only one that was ridiculed for his and pressured by public opinion to apologize for the way he feels about his grandparents service. Let that sink in. He had to apologize for expressing his pride And feelings for what his grandparents did. Surely you can see where some fans felt put off by that- especially those who feel similarly as he does.

Several members here have expressed that they are not "over the situation" and anytime Jenkins' name comes up they make it a point to express that lingering feeling. And as I pointed out, Brees and his teammates discussed it all in private and moved on. Any lingering feelings are an issue with others, not Brees and his teammates. I wish they could leave it be as well and let us all just enjoy this season for what it is.

So, in a way, you can’t let it go that they can’t let it go. 😆

Yup. You nailed it. I am man enough to admit that. My reason is that I believe that people can say things that may hurt others, but that but those individuals can forgive and move on and still be friends. Is that so unreasonable? It's somewhat of a Catch 22, no?

Would you be alright with another viewpoint on this? I don’t want to beat a dead horse or stir the pot if you aren’t. I agree with most of what you said.
