For such a mobile QB, Taysom is awful when he has to move around the pocket.

10 fumbles on the season too!

That's a concern. No excuses there.

THIS will be the game that sends us to the SUPERBOWL⚜️

This is why I was so insistent on wanting Brees back this game. If there was any way he could come back and play 75% we would have won the game. Hill was lost.

Not without a QB.

Re: Saints @ Eagles Game Day Thread

You don’t play Drew at 75% and risk further injury. That’s ridiculous. Play him when he’s ready. He re-injures himself and that’s our season.

Re: Saints @ Eagles Game Day Thread

Murray has 9 carries total the past 2 games. That’s a problem.

What would you know you quit watching until they started to mount a comeback. People should take what you say with a grain of salt.

Emmanuel Sanders one on one with a LB! MT wide open on the crossing route!

That play call was pretty dumb to be honest anyway

I'm going empty with Thomas, Sanders, Cook, Trautman and Kamara in the pattern. At least three are one on one basically. Hill with the option to run.

You know there was no way we were going to get that call.

I thought he had it too JP. The ball was right there for him to grab.

Where is Callaway and Bennie Fowler when you need em :p.

Special teams … a key ingredient to success on Sundays.

Baloney. One person does not a team make. What was Drew Brees stat line from the last playoff game the Saints were in? Pretty sure it included one int and one fumble. So using your logic DB#9 was SOLEY responsible for last year’s playoff loss, right? I don’t know if Taysom is the future, I truly don’t. He made some very nice throws, and also some really bad ones. But HE and HE alone is not the entire reason the Saints struggled, ultimately losing. Taysom made some throws DB#9 is physically incapable of making anymore. Offense missed on its’ chances to score, Defense missed on its’ chance to score and ST left six points on the cutting table.

Bottom line CJGJ missed a “right in his hands” opportunity, and it was definitely six points. Taysom missed a wide open Emanuel Sanders for a TD also, and the field goal kicking obviously missed two kicks. The win was there for the taking.

NO portion of the team stepped up. Plain & Simple. <btw> Didn’t DB#9 lose two games this year as the starter? The answer is “yeppers.

I'm so glad that I chose not to post in the game day thread. I've been trying to be more positive lately. My TV took all the abuse yesterday. Not my bng brothers.lol

Saints over paid for Andrus Peat. He's still getting abused in the trenches. Continues to be the weak link on the offensive line.

I worry about him in pass protection. Playoffs are right around the corner and he must perform better & play up to his pay grade and draft status.

Wrong.

Kicker missed not one, but two FGAs - the difference in the game...

Offensive line was porous, at best; Terron Armstead got horribly beat on a number of occasions and there was little push from the middle of the line. Ramczyk was even jumping offsides - another difference in the game...

The Defense gave up 17 pts including the bulk of the rushing yards in the first half, not late in the game...

And on the onside kick the ball was between not one, but two Saints - Robertson and Morstead and neither wanted the ball bad enough in the bottom of the pile...

This was a team loss; the entire team came out flat and played, coached like crap; arguing it all to one player is dishonest at best and shows a complete inability to grasp what happened in the game...

I’d double like like this if I could JP. Only thing you missed was talking about gameplan/coaching. Eagles won there too.

I'd argued that the Saints got caught in a bad market, took the best guard available and that they had to overpay - After yesterday, I'm reverting to my previous calculus, position - Never overpay for a player...

Yeah, I didn't ramble even more than I normally do, but I'd mentioned in a previous post I didn't like Payton drawing up the Taysom-fumble play on the sideline - it was taking too long to get the play drawn up, on the field...

And Pederson had too much time to intuit and counter what Payton was likely going to do...

While Allen made the necessary adjustments for the second half, to get caught that flat coming out in the first half makes you question the game preparation, and you're right - that's on the coaching...

What bothers me in this aspect is that they are frequently outplayed early. Detroit, Chargers, Eagles etc have all been more prepared at gametime from what I’ve seen.

Rewatched the game today. Peat and armstead looked like they have enough of playing football they miss there mommy or something. I no mr glass has missed a couple of weeks but man the effort was non chalat. On so many plays . Payton with wasted plays again, u can afford a bone head play when drew Brees is out there because he can make it up the very next one but laysum ball down hill u can’t try something dumb when u can win the game
