I addressed the facts that led to Alex being benched. You sent me a link that used quotes from a "NFL Coach"... Ha! That's about as definitive as a "Source at the White House". Show me a video of an NFL Head Coach saying player X's PFF grades are low so we're addressing it with him. It doesn't happen. And by the way, scouts use a mountain of data including new technology to try to gain an edge. PFF is probably a part of it, but in no way the definitive source for information. You're also mistaken in calling members here delusional. I haven't read a single post referring to Kwon as "amazing", in fact many have cited his missed tackles and over-aggressive play as potential problems. I haven't read a single post saying "our D will suck without him"... That's Again - when a benched player who had fallen out of favor is forced back into a starting role for the playoffs, people who wonder if he'll be a liability are justified. |
Re: Kwon Alexander Torn Achilles
The minute Kwon arrived, Demario got faster & as coach stated, he was the "fit" they were missing at LB. Constantly freeing up Ceedy/Davis because of his versatility in coverage.
Was he a "perfect" LB? Naw, had his shared of missed assignments/tackles like any one else however he impacted the game completely differently than Anzalone. Guys fed off that energy. No one on this board is bashing Anzalone but the Saints were looking to get faster. A sideline to sideline dawg. He'll be missed. Some put way too much emphasis on PFF ratings & individual grades. Trust what you see on Sundays. It's time for Alex to show up and show out in the post season. |
Re: Kwon Alexander Torn Achilles
Where I personally feel Alex is better than Kwon is run defense. Where it's obvious Alex is not (by far) is in coverage. While Kwon is not perfect, it can be said Anzalone is borderline liability in coverage.

Check this out ... LEARN ABOUT PFF PLAYER GRADES. If Anzalone was near as bad as you imply he wouldn't be on the active roster at all. |

Coaches went out and made a trade, subsequent demotion for Alex to special teams for a reason AG. Criticism of a 3rd year player under performing in the same defense is warranted. He needs to perform at a high level as we enter the playoffs as do the rest of his team mates on defense. Smart offensive coordinators already know where they will attack a "weakness". Good luck to Anzalone in the post season. He'll need it. |

Let's just say that I am far less concerned with our defense than some others with the loss of Alexander. |
Re: Kwon Alexander Torn Achilles
