Re: Drew’s Final Regular Season Game?
I'd like to see Brees one more year. Then Taysom. Draft a QB to develop - bye bye winston.

Re: Drew’s Final Regular Season Game?
My selfish feelings mixed with payroll realities would be that Drew returns next year (after a second Super Bowl MVP) and they draft a QB. A year under Brees and Payton and year 2 he’s ready to go. That allows signings for Latt, Ram, etc. Calloway is a player, so with him Thomas and Kamara the O should be able to keep going.

Ignore how we generally look at the cap because the cap is set based on previous years revenues. While the cap has historically increased year over year, 2020 is the first down revenue year in quite some time, expect the cap to be lowered +/- 20-25MM. A 20MM reduced cap is going to put some talent on the streets for all teams. |

Drew Brees, you talking about the sellout? I won't say how I really feel because I'll lose my announcer position.
Bend over when told to STFU by a teammate really shows his sensitive side |

If Brees is 100% certain he is going to retire the Saints can reduce his salary to the league minimum of $1.075 million. That would allow the Saints to drop his salary cap number from $36.15 million to $12.2225 million a savings of $23.925 million. The team would have to carry Brees as an active player until June 2nd at which point they would officially place him on the retired list and receive the June 1 cap benefit. Rather than taking on $22.65 million in dead money in 2021 the team would only have an $11.15 million charge for Brees in 2021 and $11.5 million in 2022. |

AG, Brees is as competitive as they come. He will always love the game.
As for his level of play, he is and would be next year playing at an elite level. He's still healthy, despite the injuries received the past two seasons. Family; I don't think his kids want him to quit yet, there at the ages where they love being part of this ride. His wife I think is neutral. C'mon Drew, you still got it. I would like to be able to attend at least one more game LIVE before your done. |

Personally I think if he does walk you try to eat as much as you can in one year and use the year to rebuild asap to set up long term success. But that's a story for a different thread. The team cannot afford to not be looking at the possibility he doesn't return though. |
