Re: Drew’s Final Regular Season Game?
Drew mentioned that he loves playing the game while his kids are now old enough to see him play . The older the kids get the more they want there dad to keep playing I’m sure.

"What if Brees is not sure he wants to retire and acts a bit like Brett Favre at the end of his career? One option is to add more void years to the contract, reduce his salary as above, and convert the $23.925 million to an option bonus that is due after the first game of the season. Under that type of contract Brees would count for $17.01 million, a savings of $19.14 million. If Brees does decide to retire the team would get the same savings as in the first scenario since the option would never be exercised. If he plays then you have a lot more dead money to deal with in 2022 but that is the price of Brees returning." |

The structure with a couple of /backup/starter quality backup on the roster leave a lot positives that could drive Drews decision. Quality person and athlete and would not make the decision to stay if he did not feel he had something left to give for the benefit of this team and organization. |
Re: Drew’s Final Regular Season Game?
After one and done in the playoffs Brees is done. The Bears are exactly the sort of team to knock us out yet again.

No confidence in the 2020 Saints squad? I watched the Bears at great length last weekend vs GB and came away with meh … Mitch is still a pick 6 waiting to happen, Jimmy Graham is slow has alligator arms & disappears late, Allen Robinson is the only playmaker who has become frustrated & coach Nagy often times abandons his run game. IIRC Roquan Smith and the kid WR from Tulane could be out on Sunday. That would be huge losses on both sides of the ball. Saints present a bad match up for them. It's the Playoffs - Any Given Sunday but the Bears ain't defeating New Orleans this weekend. |
