Totally agree with Rez that Tyrann Mathieu is a game changer for the back end of your defense and would energize #WhoDatNation, but as Major points out Saints FO have a salary slot number...

And it's not just the Saints, Mathieu has taken several good meetings with teams and come away without a contract - most of the time that suggests it's the asking price...

Well if so, then that’s where this “salary slot” is hurting them IMO. I would have gladly not signed Smith and spent that money to increase the money to safety. Same with with Sorensens contract. the two players I want are Honey Badger and Melvin Gordon. With that I’d feel good about going into draft. Then OT/WR/DL are picks 1-3.

I don't know what he's unsure about. Honey Badger has basically been begging for the Saints to come after him for several years. I don't know why they aren't publicly clamoring for him. It would be great PR.

The “money” is probably the main issue with Tyrann.

Saints front office have shown that they have a certain number that they are comfortable with and don’t budge off of that.

Personally I don’t see us in the mix for his services which would be unfortunate.

We're all awaiting to see if the new mistress for DA is LSU or if it remains Ohio St.

IMO this is “THE” year to select a “THEE OHIO ST” player in the draft.
