Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

Does anyone really feel like we'll make a trade before the deadline? We have an awful lot of expensive contracts from this year and more to come. We have a bunch of UDFA's that are turning out to be good enough for back up players. Our backups have been getting a lot of reps though with so many players out with injuries. But I can see us bringing in a good role player if he fits the system who could step up if needed. Maybe a tight end. I don't see us making a big trade for a player when we need the picks next year. We already spent a third rounder for a backup corner.

IMO, if the Saints want to make a playoff push you may have to at least inquire about a trade for a WR. Taysom and Deonte are officially OUT on Monday, Chris Hogan (blocker) abruptly retired 2 days before game night & no one knows when Michael Thomas will return @ 100 %.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but adding (via draft) another WR should have been a priority 2 seasons ago. Winston simply doesn't have many options right now.

Where the hell is that Meat Guy? I need answers !

Lol. Do you think they’ll active Kevin White and pray for the best?

Rain is in the forecast on Monday night. We need more blockers so maybe there is a Trequain Smith sighting.

Callaway, Stills, and that's about it.

At this point, I don't think we should expect much from White at WR .

We get Brandin Cooks back, there will be no more excuses for Winston not having WRs open...

No, I mean Brandin Cooks will do more to open up the field, spread the coverage out for other receivers...

Thomas will out-physical his defender(s) and will move the chains on 3rd downs and win in the red-zone...

It's a shame Kevin White can't get it together because he has separation & serious speed to keep defenses honest. Those hands of stone though ...

But yeah, Cooks would help. We gotta do something. Saints WR core is about as bad as I've ever seen under Sean Payton.

Meanwhile, the trade deadline is rapidly approaching.
