Seems like a good deal to me to get what is now a starting TE. There's no guarantee that any of the traded picks would have fielded a starting player.
Not saying your opinion is wrong but on the flip side with all of those picks given up for a single player we could have hit on possibly all of them, their are plenty of players drafted around those times not including undrafted that have had solid to great careers in the league. I think alot of that is laziness on the scouting department and coaches. From Pierre Thomas to Tom Brady.
