Re: St. Louis police group calls on NFL to punish Rams for Ferguson Gestures

Jackson, MS (Hometown of Chris Givens) December 5, 2014: 61 year old black man stabbed to death in his home by 22 year old black man. No national outrage. No outrage by Mr. Givens.

Birmingham, AL (Hometown of Jared Cooks) December 2, 2014: 29 year old Latino mother of 3 stabbed to death by 29 year old black man. No national outrage. No outrage by Mr. Cooks.

This is just within the last 5 DAYS with just 2 of these 5 players' hometowns. One can't help but think that just a small fraction of contract money and a small fraction of time these dudes could spend back in their hometowns could make some kind of positive difference.

But what do I know? Who am I to tell folks how to spend their money and spend their time? Like I said in my original post, if they want to raise their arms in protest, let'em. It's their essence and their prerogative and their lives and their opinions.

I usually don't even comment on things like this on this site anymore, but I'm not at all surprised by your stance.

So let's see if Rodger is "smart" enough to punish them.
I don't really care that they did it, per se, but at least have your facts right. He never did or said that so to propagate a lie because your ignorant of the facts is a little dumb. Even that really doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that a lot of these players will turn around when someone calls them a roll model and say we aren't role models, blah blah blah. Usually that follows doing something detrimental. Well don't pick and choose your moments. That's the only part that really irritates me about it.

If you want to stand up for someone that shouldn't be dead then stand up for that poor guy in NY, not the thug in MO.

Your team stinks

That's what I'm talking about. If I had included older black males, women, Hispanic/latinos and (god forbid) Caucasians in my earlier stats of 3 or 4 bodies, it'd be double digits ... include the whole city, it's in the hundreds ... but I digress, .

It's an economic/social issue (and a much larger debate), not a young black male/white police officer issue. I've lived in/visited quite a few countries around the world. Poor people act pretty much the same regardless of race, color, creed, culture or nationality and all within societal norms. You always have your 1% of Michael Browns, for whatever reason. One may even speculate that's the reason you need police departments,.

This conversation has been going on since as early as I can remember ... late '60s/early '70s ... and it has not advanced one single iota since then because the race pimps keep focusing it towards the topic that profits them most and benefits their communities the least.

If their goal is to rip the scabs off old wounds ... mission accomplished ... but a lot of us are older/wiser now.

Race only plays an issue as much as who is most effected economically. Very true, and great pt. You really are starting to see a schism within the black race in this country too.

Yeah, I'm about done ... when people can't realize or even acknowledge that attempting to grab a cop's gun could possibly result in great personal harm and selectively review the facts, it's pointless, .

I also got a feeling it's gonna' be a rough week on the board, so why make it any worse, eh?

Re: St. Louis police group calls on NFL to punish Rams for Ferguson Gestures

I am late for posting in this thread.

I do not care if you protest for this or that or the price of tomatoes.

Protesters, I get it, can protest for this. Fine.
I do not agree with the protesters. Fine.
I have been saying that the law, govt., govt officials like police chiefs, mayors, governors, etc. are really letting the protesters invade on others' rights too and this is a major problem, like a shoot out , waiting to happen.

Today, these protesters invaded and closed down
Mall of America.
Police brutality protesters rally at Mall of America

It is going to take one person to open some fire against them.
They can protest all they want, but they have no right to stop others from going on with their lives.
This is not right to stop people from going into the mall, the football stadium, etc.

Last week, the protesters beat up two police officers in NYC and their mayor, Blasio, did nothing. Today, some wacko, assassinated two police officers.
This is so sad.
