Draft Leinart

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'd draft him as soon as we came up.... then let the other teams scuffle for it. They want to play their little games knowing that most of them want Leinart....

RE: Draft Leinart

if it is possible to make a trade after the pick then sure it sounds great. the only other way is to pick him and be prepared to keep him until an option comes or deosnt come.

RE: Draft Leinart

pass on him. we don't need a francise QB. Sure a qb is a pieace of the puzzle but before you start building a puzzle you start with the out side edge...

It's possible....Chargers did it with Eli a couple of years ago. The only problem I have with drafting Leinart is if no one offers us what we want for compensation, then we Brees looking over his shoulder again. Then again, after what he did in San Diego after the Chargers traded for Rivers, it may not be a bad thing at all.

Well lets see: We pick him up,we don't get enough for him, we wind up having to keep him. You know how much money he's gonna demand? I don't know if I'd risk that.

Exactly. if we end up picking him, it's b/c another team called our bluff and we lost. What team is going to make a deal for him after he's been picked. none. zip.

two years ago it was done b/c one team was stupid enough to think they had to sell the next two years of draft for one guy, and the other team was stupid enough to not be patient with a QB who has done nothing but win.

We should take the guy that fills the most need for us, that we HAVEN'T already filled. stop the pipe dreams about some trade after the fact. it happens in basketball, not in real business
