this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Don't forget about Karney! I completely forgot about that guy for a while. Karney opening up holes for Reggie Bush - THAT'S a scary thought. I'm not sure how well Payton is going to do as a coach, but I ...

I'm not sure how well Payton is going to do as a coach, but I like the way he's dealing with the discipline problem. It seems Haslett had a hard time keeping our team in line. We definately should see less penalties this year - unless Payton's attempts were all in vain.

If we get a kicker with one of the next two picks I'll feel even better about the draft. Do the Saints even have a kicker right now?

Faine...

I think we can all agree that Bentley is a better athelete then Faine is.
And he also one of the top five guards in the league.

But,
our line wasnt great with him at center.
it was better with Jerry Fontenot making the calls.
Sure, Jerry could get blown up sometimes, but at least the line seemed to f-up individually (with Victim Riley and Wayne Gimpy.) and not as an entire line as we have witnessed since Jerry's departure.

So maybe Faine will allow the line to be greater than the sum of its parts.

and i cant back this up with a link, but strictly hypothetically:
Does is seem like we incurred more line penalties since Jerrys departure?

If anyone can prove this let me know, i would venture its true.

RE: Faine...

I see Payton in N.O 5 years min. but has a good chance to be around for a long time.
I think Payton will do down as a great coach in N.O
