I agree he is a very nice pick up you guys are going to be very happy with him. When we picked up jason david last year I was not very happy I am very happy now.

Re: Saints sign Gay!

I love the signing and I was hoping that we would sign Samuel and Gay that way we could address MLB and DT with the #1 and #2 picks in the draft.

#1 Rivers, #2 Moore or Laws and Lee CB in the 3rd.

What makes you think this? McKenzie isn't going to be ready to play at the beginning of the season.

I think well will bring someone else in via trade or draft and David won't be a starter at least for a while. Until we can get our front 7 settled. We need a pass rush and an OLB and I assume you thinkDavid will still be a starter?

Helps out in a need area for sure. Not the flashiest signing but a solid one. Now if we could land a #1 like Lito or DHall in a trade then our secondary improves dramatically.

As for my opinion on him, I think he's a pefect nickel back though he'll be our number 2 corner... but I'll take him over David any day. Jason David is better suited for a backup role where I think he'll be a contributor guarding teams 3rd and 4th receivers.
Remind me papz, how much per year was David's deal?

I for one am pretty excited about this signing. Gay is still young, but has played on a Super Bowl team for the last few years. IMO, that gives him more maturity automatically than most guys his age. It also means he's been getting very good instruction on how to play the position from arguably the best coaching staff in the NFL. He might not be a primetime player, but I definitely think he's what we need - some youth, but also a little bit of experience. I can definitely see him playing the #2 corner spot, at least until MM gets healthy.

Also, he was playing behind Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs, two very good corners, so I don't think that just because he was the nickel back in New England means that he can't be a starter here. I mean, besides MM, our corners probably wouldn't even make another team. This is great news.

You can forget about Hall theres no way Atlanta trades him to us. I think Cromartie or Rivers would be a great draft pick.

Not to impressed with this signing. We don't improve??? We need a pass rush. All they done with this signing is shut fans up who think the problem is the CB's. I think there is more concern with the S and FS spots.
