I've bee a fan since 1970, the year my family moved to New Orleans. Even though I've been in Houston for 17 years now and do my best to support the Texans (except when they play the Saints), I have remained a true Saints fan for life. I stick with them no matter if it is a great season like this one or if I am sitting in the dome with 10,000 other die-hards when we can't win a game to save our lives. In my book, that's what makes a true fan -- supporting your team win or lose. This year it is just a whole lot easier to call myself a Saints fan.

Geaux Saints.

Go SAINTS!!!!!

Been a fan since 85, I was 10, living in Oregon who has no team and was not about to jump on the Seagals wagon.
Did more pushups in basic training than ever needed because I would not bash them and now do not want to buy a new hat, shirt or jersey because I am afraid I will look like another band wagon member.

PS - Living in Dallas this year has been the best year as a Saints fan!!

Been a fan since the middle 70's. I don't remember exactly when I first started paying attention. I was just a teenager. I do however, remember watching in 1980 the dedicated fans on TV with the bags on their heads.

Re: You've been a Saint's fan for how long . . .

In the 60's, growing up in the Delaware Valley, the Eagles were the local team, who I couldn't stand BEFORE they threw snowballs at Santa! At that time I latched on to some flashy guys from Texas called the Cowboys (Landry, Staubach, Lilly, Hill, Garrison, Alworth, Hayes, etc.). I was much put down for the longest time until they started winning and the bandwagoners climbed on board.

Then I found another team with no record of winning, the Steelers (Knox, Harris, Gilliam, Bradshaw, Blount, Greene, Ham, Lambert, Swan, etc.). They started winning and don't ya know it, here come the bandwagoners again! So I bailed.

Then I briefly latched onto the New England Patriots before THEY started winning. (Grogan, Eason, Cunningham, Tippet, Morgan, Stingley, etc.) They had a run in with the Bears in the Super Bowl and, you guessed it, more bandwagoners.

So, how do I end up with the Saints and my team?
I figured that any team who boasted such a dedicated fanbase that they could wear bags over their heads on TV on NFL game day... well, THAT is the TEAM FOR ME!

It's so sweet having people just smile and nod when I'm sporting my Saints gear, knowing that if nothing else, our time has come...and I ain't losing my seat on this wagon for bandwagoners ever again!

Geaux Saints!!

A wise man once said, "Poo-poo smells just as bad as s#!%. One just SOUNDS cuter!"

Re: You've been a Saint's fan for how long . . .

It seems like every year that we have a good year, this question comes up. I remember
answering it in 06, and 00. Oh well, here we go again. I have been a saints fan since they
were in the century division. Back then, they were in the same division with the steelers.
My father and brother liked the steelers, so I sided with my grandfather, and picked the saints
I think I was four. Oh well, was there for the archie, and dempsey years. Through, phillips, mora,
I even remeber the year wade phillips became interim coach. Long timer here.

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....

I was at the game that Wade was interim coach against the Rams and if you remember big busted Morganna ran out on the field before the game and kissed Bobby Hebert.

Morganna The Kissing Bandit! How the hell did I miss that, Buds???? When did she come out? I was there, and didnt see it!

Oh well, I sorta accidently attended one of her shows in the late 80's, and I kind of saw more of her than you did, I think. She was actually kind on the old side. Decent shape, though. Its weird, but I didnt get the kind of show I was expecting. There was something kind of all-american wholesome about her. It was like Happy Days with skin. I thought she was a nice lady, and totally didnt belong in a sleezy Houston strip bar.

Anyway, back on track, I saw the first Wade Game too! Wow! 29-6 was it? Clobbered Dieter Brock, stopped Eric Dickerson cold, and messed up the playoff bound Rams. Talk about a win that felt good. We werent going nowhere, but I was happy in the Dome that day! small world, Buds.

Been a Saints fan since the day I was born. I've lived in Tampa, Dallas, and North Carolina, but I've never strayed from my love of the Saints.

It's so funny, my dad has always said that Wade Phillips looks like Captain Kangaroo. The similarities are astounding!

I want to say after the kickoff and the Saints came out on offense. They were in the huttle and she came running on the field from the endzone.
