New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith was arrested early Saturday morning and booked on charges of simple battery and domestic abuse, according to a report by Fox 8's Rob Ennis.

He reportedly was involved in a domestic dispute with his spouse while leaving a Lafayette nightclub.

Smith allegedly grabbed her by the hair and began pulling her down the street. His wife received only minor injuries, the news release said.

According to a news release from the Lafayette Police Department, Smith was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday morning in the 300 block of Jefferson Street, after police officers observed him arguing with his wife.

Man! WTH!! Im going to wait for the full story, Women aren't always the innocent one's in these type of cases, the man however (especially an athletic man) will always get behind bar's first unless he get's shot, burned or stabbed.

Nobody knows what actually happened. In most states there has to be an arrest anytime the police are called for domestic violence, even if it's just two people yelling at each other. Hopefully that's what happened.

I'd read it was battery...

A. Domestic abuse battery is the intentional use of force or violence committed by one household member upon the person of another household member.
