loomis is on the phone immediately while haslett tries with two hands to up his jaw....
there are approximately 2 minutes left before the 1st pick of the 2004 draft which the chargers hold....
loomis talks non-stop to the party on the other end of the war room phone.......
one and half minutes go by, and the commis approaches the speaker as the seconds tick away..loomis hangs up the phone sweating as the commis begans to speak....
someone hands him a piece of paper. the commis looks down, reads the paper, looks up and continues...
with the 1st pick of the 2004 nfl draft the san diego chargers have........
traded their pick to the new orleans for their 1st and 2 second picks in the 2004 nfl draft.
the saints are now on the.........(someone else hands the commis another piece of paper.
the commis looks at the paper, removes his eyeglasses, rubs his eyes, while in the background an oldies radio station becomes increasingly louder with the song beginning.......why, is'nt that three dog night someone asks?
you're dam right it is yells saints fans waiting in the wing.........
the commis is speaking, with the 1st pick in the 2004 nfl draft the saints have selected....
but the music beats him to it....ELI'S COMING........ELI'S COMING..........
the commis smiles and continues.......eli manning , quarterback of.....
but his voice is drowned out by the screaching coming from the saint fans......
tom benson proudly starts to do his boogie and trips..........
suddenly, he cries in pain.....OUCH!!!!!!!! why, i hurt my head, and my twirly wrist is hurt too.....what the, why i've fell out of my bed....i musta been dreaming, but wait, that dream could still be real...i, i , could fill the stadium for yrs........it might cost me fort knox but,
(in another part of town, a dead to the world loomis awakes to his phone ringing....at 4 in the morning.....aahh, hello, hello? ahhh, yes mr benson sir, i was sleeping.....what's that mr. benson? get on a plane and go where???? yes sir, mr. benson, i'm on my way..

a) I can\'t believe anyone here is still suggesting that the Saints are going to trade with SD. The bottomline is we shouldn\'t pay what that would cost.

b) Why didn\'t Swamme predict that he\'d misspell his own name in the subject line and correct that before it happened? What kind of Mickey Mouse prognosticating organization is he running over there?

Wow...that may have been the most boring and at the same time...predictable cr@p that i would expect from someone on this site...makes a lot of sense in la-la land though.

dear mr moderator,
granted, in the beginning of my post, i did not say this was my opinion of what might happen, but it is..
i see no where in your rules that i can\'t state my opinion pertaining to the saints.
correct me if i\'m wrong sir.
this is a board of discussion and opinion, about the saints, is it not?
no apology necessary at this time......swamee

I challenge part B. I know your joking, but I think your a know it all Scott. Why? Don\'t ask me why? Thats how I feel. Now let me get my rocks off by asking you for proof of that statement. I want quotes. Start off with 50, naw gimme 100, and better be good or else I\'ll win a get a plaque that says I proved you wrong plus a free ice cream cone. Now, Stop passing off your opinon as fact. I\'m the Judge here of what you statement means. You get no say so. Without me this board would run wild with those DANGEROUS opinions passed of as fact. The last thing we need is people I like don\'t err... I mean members stating their opinons without saying \"I think\" before every sentence. Thats too confusing. Or thats at least the way I feel. You disagree. Too bad, and bring me proof for that too. And next time when you disagree state \"I think\" first. Why can\'t I infer that? Because if I did that, I wouldn\'t be able to harass people I hate err members that pass their opinons off as fact. So bring me proof and after that bring me some more while I scan this board for evil doers and rid the forum those pisky opinons passed off as fact. People here are not as smart as me. They\'ll never know opinon from fact.

I\'m sorry, Gatorman. I didn\'t mean to cause so many problems for you so close to finals. You shouldn\'t even be wasting your time on this site if your outlines aren\'t complete yet (and I know they\'re not). Well, on to your statements...

I\'m a know it all? I know my wife thinks I am, but I didn\'t know it was coming through that way here. Oh well. My true nature has been identified. Is that cause for banishment?

Now, my review of part (b) of my post does not indicate to me that I expressed any opinions at all that would require proof. I simply asked two questions. Thus, I can\'t provide any proof of my statements in part (b) because that section is devoid of statements altogether. I do hope your analytical skills improve in the next couple of weeks or your poor professors are in for a horrible time of reading your answers.

My two cents on proof...
Although I think Saintfan stated it clearly enough for you in another thread, I\'ll reiterate in my own words. Most writings on this forum can be broken down into three categories: opinion, statement of fact, and question. Of the three only statement of fact needs to be backed up by some form of proof although it may help to do what you can by way of proof when expressing your opinion. As stated above, questioning demands no proof. This is true on this forum because of credibility. If you want your statement to have some, you should post the source for the statement. If not, then don\'t cry when people do not believe that your version of the facts is not accurate. However, I don\'t think the rules do or should mandate this for anyone.

What is prohibited on this site is personal attacks. I suppose that under a strict (very strict) definition of personal attack I am guilty of such in my response to Swamee\'s dream post. I don\'t regret it because it would be a travesty of justice to ban me based on such a narrow reading of the rule that I can\'t see the fine moderators of this site acting in such an unfair way. However, your post blatantly attacks me personally (\"know it all\"). I think you should be banned for 50, no, 100 days for this as it is not your first offense...but I don\'t enforce the rules here.

Lastly, I still believe that there is absolutely no chance that the Saints will move up to the #1 spot to draft Eli.

Amazing as it may very well be, after all the trouble Gator went to trying to make people think I was calling him names and attacking him personally -- can ya freakin\' believe he would post something like this? I\'ve watched Gator at work for a while, so I can belive it easily, but there are others who might have been mislead by his recent attempts to play nice with his classmates. Motivated by what I assume is a general dislike for me (because I don\'t agree with his narrow-minded views) and/or the issue regarding his inability to back up his words in another thread.

Tisk, tisk, tisk, Gator. I asked you not to MAKE me prove to the members of this forum that you\'re guilty of everything you have accused me of...and I\'d like to take this oppurtunity to thank you for going that extra mile and saving me the trouble by opening your mouth and proving it all by your lonesome.

On to ELI -- He\'s not here...He\'s not coming...

C'mon Man...

JimBone,

I agree, Avatars are overrated!

Also, I thought Gator was joking. I was laughing, until I saw there were replies - then I didn\'t know what to think.

I think he was joking with ScottyRo, JKool, but his sarcasm directed toward me was duly noted. You\'d just have to know the History Man.
