Do you play RGIII?

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; To me that was borderline criminal. Definitely stupid. It's not they were in the Vikings situation. Cousins has proved he can play. If this kid has a serious injury injury Shanahan should be fired....

Tough call. All I would really say is if I was Shanny "the weasel", I think I would have rather listened to the "professionals" aka Doctors as opposed to a player, you know they would try and play on a stump. Hell, Doc Andrews himself was on the sidelines.

That play in the 4th quarter when he went out of the game, looked nasty... No way is a knee supposed to give out and fold the way his did...

Re: Do you play RGIII?

Well I would take the advice of my doctors an ask the player...
However he was clearly shut down going into the 3rd. Kirk cousins isn't all that bad either. I would have gone with cousins at the beginning of the 3rd.

But then again I'm an armchair coach at best

I just hope he not seriously hurt after that game.

Re: Do you play RGIII?

Redskins Dr. Andrews never cleared RG3 to return against Ravens.

"[Griffin] didn't even let us look at him," Andrews said. "He came off the field, walked through the sidelines, circled back through the players and took off back to the field. It wasn't our opinion.

"We didn't even get to touch him or talk to him. Scared the hell out of me."

From the frontpage of nfl.com

I'm the quarterback of this team. My job is to be out there if I can play. I'm the best option for this team. That's why I'm the starter.
- Robert Griffin III

I didn't like him at Baylor and I don't like him with the Redskins. They should have played Cousins.

Re: Do you play RGIII?

In retrospect & hindsight being twenty-twenty, "no". I wouldn't have answered that way after the first quarter though, . Yeah, it was a playoff game and of course the guy wants to play, but you have to think about his health & career.

It would have helped me also in that I wouldn't have chosen WAS to win and WAS to cover the spread, just as I wouldn't have chosen MIN to cover the spread had it not been a gametime decision to sit Ponder (!@#$) .

It's a business, but I hope they didn't just compromise the career of a promising young QB for the sake of a playoff game.
