Will Smith Might Start Sunay

It's looking like the Saints will start two rookie defenders in their season opener against Seattle at the Superdome on Sunday.

Middle linebacker Courtney Watson is a given. Defensive end Will Smith is a surprise.

The first-round draft pick from Ohio State has practiced with the first-team defense the past two days in place of injured right end Darren Howard, and said he's prepared to start if the veteran can't play.

"It's not a big deal," Smith said. "I knew I was going to play a lot anyway."
