Forcing the ball to Ingram should have cost us this game. If we continue to give the worst rusher the biggest percentage of carries we're going to lose games we should win.

I would be all in for a true 3-down power back, I like Ingram but this system is bad for him. I want to take the pressure off of Brees and on to the opposing D, a power back will do just that.

That goal line stuff has to have some negative repercussions for Ingram. It looked like Brees talked Payton into going for it, so someone will have to fall on the sword. When I saw that Ingram was the deep back, I started hoping for a pass play!

I haven't seen Ingram do any great things as an "inside runner", Thomas, and even Sproles, runs better between the tackles than Ingram does. It's not the line's fault; Thomas runs behind the same line. Ingram's the only back (Saints) over the last couple of years that has a consistent sub-four yards per carry. I don't know, it is definitely frustrating to watch him. For the money, he should be a lot more productive. I can see Sproles starting to maybe tail off this year as he's getting up in age for a RB. Hopefully Cadet or Robinson can get some work in. I know people are worried about those two holding on to the ball, but they can't do any worse than Ingram. Based on pre-season efforts, Robinson at least deserves some touches that Ingram might otherwise get.

You know, I would like to see Pierre get 250+ carries this season. He's tougher'n a boot. That would fix any running game issues IMO.

There was some INTENSE body language between Brees and Payton, as Brees came off the field after that stuff of Ingram on fourth down. It looked like Payton was giving the death scowl to Brees, and Brees kinda bobbed his head and gave a shrug back out to the field, as if to say "wasn't me." It really stood out.

You have to wonder how many times they are going to keep on doing this before the "insanity definition" kicks in.... Ingram stuffed on the goal line against the Packers with the game on the line in his first game. Ingram stuffed on 4th down at midfield against the Falcons last week. Ingram stuffed on 4th down against the Bucs, again with the game on the line.

And then so many of us have the memory of 4th and 1 in overtime in the NFC Championship game, they give it to Pierre, and he makes it across the line by tremendous, unstoppable, second effort, force of will, and pure heart. I dunno.

Ingram would be a good fit in Buffalo, Miami, or Denver. Buffalo being the best fit.

On how many carries? How bout ypc? Thats what tells the real story. If you dont like someone disagreeing with your opinion dont post it.

I don't know about Buffalo; Spiller's young and Fred Jackson may have some tread left. Ingram would be third string there at best. I do agree withe Denver, however. The Broncos have always been able to make good backs out of guys that weren't so successful elsewhere.

I feel somewhat 'naked' not having posted something about Ingram yet and everyone has just about covered every angle!

I've been one of those who has defended him. I've bowed to the lack of consistent carries he is given and offered up many other reasons, that now I feel are excuses. Last night I finally cracked. I was shouting and swearing at my telly.

I literally have no idea why we ride him. Every time he is in play we use him on a run. It's predictable. You could argue that predictability actually opens up the play action and when Brees changed the play, we actually hit a wide open Jimmy Graham but that simply isn't good enough.

I have no idea how people are using any of his statistics to defend his play. He has been awful through 8 quarters of football this season, and I mean 'draft bust' awful. He doesn't appear to be able to run forward which is incredibly frustrating. I feel he could drop the ball at any moment. I have no confidence he can get us those extra couple of yards we need like Ivory used to last season.

So what do we do? In reality, I am not convinced that a weak trade solves anything. He is a healthy player with pedigree who, I agree, is showing nothing. I would definitely rather have him on the roster than give him away. That being said, I would now like to see Khiry Robinson getting touches and being lit up for game day. If that means Ingram goes inactive, then fine, but he needs to be getting touches and showing what he can do.

I'm so disappointed with Ingram, it is untrue. It's gone beyond benefit of the doubt. Just study the tape so far. There is literally nothing positive to take from this.

The way Ingram was stopped on that run looked "off." He's stocky but he reminds me of Reggie in that he has no leg drive. PT and Sproles may not have made it either, but it wold have looked different. In the replays it looked like Ingram made his cut, hit a defender and just plain stopped pushing. He should have at leat went nose first.
