You can live your life in the dark knowing nothing with out a conviction if you chose. You don't understand the difference between commentary and offering to pay someone's fine?

OJ did it.... so did Ray Lewis.... And I've seen enough of life to know that on more than one occasion; what someone did, and what someone can prove are two different things.

Here, you want to live by that sword? Rodger Goodell hasn't been convicted of damaging the NFL or any unfair treatment of the Saints in his career... Now fall on your own sword.

TheDude, these are THE RULES today. It was a clothesline tackle, and under THE RULES it should be flagged, as well as fined. Who's team are you on? I question your side, almost every time I see a post from you.

Lewis paying the fine is nothing but commentary. Do you think brooks needs help financially? No. Lewis is merely making a statement about his displeasure with the leagues calls. This was just a way for him to speak out, and apparently he is getting a lot of attention.

There is a difference between preponderance of evidence and reasonable doubt. Just like in OJs case there was reasonable doubt, although in civil litigation he was determined to be guilty by the preponderance of evidence. You can use this same example with Lewis.

I for one choose to live in a world where people dont get sentenced to life in prison or death unless they are found guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Now you may choose to live in whatever world you want to but that's not reallity.

As for Goodell, he has done nothing criminal so comparisons between him and some other individual accused of a crime isn't intelligent. Goodell may have done things to land himself in civil litigation but that has yet to come forth.

Guess what? It is too fvckin' bad that Lewis is frustrated. It is also too fvckin' bad that some people ( who don't have ANY decision making power in the NFL ) don't happen to think the rules should be the rules. He should be fined, just like all the other shi*ty players are fined.

And, how do you know what he is glad or isn't glad about? From what I've seen Lewis is one crazy fvck.

I do not see why players need to become: a) a grease spot on the field, b) or a paraplegic, or c) attle-brained beyond recognition, by the time they retire, for some fans to be happy.

Lay off the guy....you must be joking.

Re: Ray Lewis willing to help Ahmad Brooks fine for his hit on Drew Brees

We might all be homers, but that hit was vicious and clearly deserving of a flag. I don't like when a player gets flagged for basically just touching a quarterback's helmet, which seems to happen a lot. But this guy went out of his way to clothes-line Brees when he had every opportunity to make a clean tackle. It wasn't one of those last second freak accidents. And you are not going to convince me that it was anything but intentional.

But what bothers me is how they act like that was the game. I saw a lot of bs calls go against us, and I also saw the 49ers hold our D-line constantly and not get called.

Even if I ignore all that AND if I say that the brooks call was somehow wrong, then it still didn't decide the game. the 49ers got the ball back and went absolutely nowhere. If they couldn't get a first down when they NEEDED to score, what makes anyone think they would have been able to run out the clock when they didn't need to score after the -would be- fumble? We stopped them cold and went down and won the game. I'm sick of hearing about the stupid call "costing" the whiners the game. We won and I'm damn proud of this team for it. End of story.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

i hate to say it but i love that style of hitting. puts players out of games. but it is against the rules.

Now Ray blaming Drew height as the reason for the flag was totally bogus. when he uses wr as a reason while he is up on his pulpit then i will listen but this is rating crap.

The hit is dirty even back in the day

Reality? The reality of this world is that innocent people go to jail and guilty people walk freely everyday. The reality is that guilt/innocence is not determined by evidence or lack there of; but by skill of the lawyer. The reality is that your ignoring what you see and letting other people decide for you.

You either know very little about Lewis, very little about OJ, or little about both. The cases are nothing alike. Ray flipped on his friends so he wouldn't have to stand trial. That alone makes him a rat. OJ faced juries, which puts him one level above Ray Lewis. Not that either deserves to be put out in the event of a fire.

You assume a lot for someone who can't form an opinion until a jury convenes.

You assume Brooks is financially stable.
You assume Lewis doesn't want anyone hurt.

You also assumed you could tell me who I should lay off of. The bromance is clear and evident, or should I say there is a "preponderance" of it.

The point is moot.... If they get the ball there then they have the oppurtunity to close out the game, but the call didn't decide the game, just as the no call of the safety didn't decide it for us.... Good call ref.

10 years ago you could hit a defenseless receiver also or actually there was no such thing as defenseless receiver. Hitting one these days always draws a fine. I will be highly shocked if this hit doesn't draw a fine. You have the same space that a pitcher has as a strike-zone. Above the knees and below the armpits, If you can't hit a guy in the bellybutton you are just trying to take someone out of the game or end his career.
