End of the Drew Breed Era ?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm not sure if he and his wife are still breeding, but that's none of my business. Nah, I know what you meant, lol. But seriously, I don't know. I can say with conviction he is past his prime. That ...

I'm not sure if he and his wife are still breeding, but that's none of my business. Nah, I know what you meant, lol. But seriously, I don't know. I can say with conviction he is past his prime. That was something I already thought, but seeing all those dying butterflies he was attempting to throw downfield was the most discouraging sign I've seen from him, yet.

It was consistent. Just had no life on his passes. He's gonna have to reinvent himself if he wants to be successful, unless there's an injury he's not telling us about. He already claimed to have hid an injury from us last year, and not that I don't believe him, but all that stuff he said about putting in all that work to fix his mechanics in the off season, and being in the best shape of his career has produced nothing positive on the field.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: End of the Drew Breed Era ?

I'm not sure what it is. The O line I thought should be good enough. Our RBs should be good enough if they can stay healthy. I question Our receivers. Not physical enough to make the plays. That last play was a hail Mary thrown to Cooks, the shortest guy on the field.
I think Brees still has it in him but he needs more talent around him. Matt Ryan looks like a stud but he had talented receivers and tight end around him. Julio Jones can't be stopped

And don't get me started on our Defense. So it's too hard to pinpoint this on Brees.

Our defense has the pieces in place to help this team along for the next year or two until we find a legit replacement. Our D did its job today. Rookies.

Of course the WR's are the problem. Drew doesn't trust any of them at this point. Yes there were some problems in protection but most of the time he had all day to throw.

You shouldn't get started on the defense because they played well.

1 dropped pass by the fullback and now we blame the wrs?

I saw about 12 passes that looked like wounded ducks...

The defense played well for a quarter. The Bucs are bad, and the amount of big plays we gave up were inexcusable.
SaintsBro, jlaw8920 and brees84 like this.

Yes. I've been saying this all day. I don't get how anyone would not see this. Who's going to catch a pass thrown 10 feet behind them?

yep and thats how they fake us fans out every year. They play one damn good quarter or half and blow the rest. So fans accually think they are good, they suck, and cant play a whole game. Never have been able to sence 2006.

I'm usually a "Sunshiner" but it looks bleak. My brother asked me if Brees is done and my response was that Drew has a couple of years left but by the time the Saints are done rebuilding, he'll be 40 years old.
