POSSIBLE TRADE TO EAGLES?

CHANNEL 10 IN LAYFAYETTE JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE SAINTS WERE TALKING TRADE TO THE EAGLES. TRADING KENNY SMITH AND A NUMBER 3 DRAFT PICK TO THE EAGLES FOR AL HARRIS DB. HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? :yltype:

I have not heard that one. Al Harris looks like the DBs we already have on the roster. I just dont see any upgrade at the position with a trade. Plus we give up a third round draft pick. Some one explain this to me. PLEASE!!!

News: We hear reports now in New Orleans that the Eagles asked too much and there is NO DEAL. Anyone hear anything else??

The deal was supposedly , Kenny Smith and a 3rd round pick .

The deal breaker was that Philadelphia wanted it to be an upgradeable pick .

Yeah. Juan Kincade reported on the news last night that the Saints were amidst talks with the Eagles about a possible deal to send Kenny Smith and a 3rd round pick to Philly for Al Harris. My opinion is that Al Harris, if he came, would be in competition for a starting spot. Harris is listed as the third corner on the depth chart in Philly but that\'s only because the Eagles already have a very strong secondary. The deal know looks unlikely because the Eagles want that 3rd rounder to be conditional, perhaps on the performance of Harris or Smith. Kenny Wilkerson was on the radio tonight saying that he could not confirm that the Saints were ever engaged in trade talks with the Eagles but we all know how that works. If it doesn\'t work out the last thing you want to do is give Kenny Smith second thoughts about playing football in black and gold.

Loomis and Haslett are not in panic mode just yet, however they are deeply concerned about their depth at corner. They are shopping around for a back up to Fred Thomas. This was to be Keyou Craver\'s role until recently, when speculation that Ken Irvin could not handle the starting role thrust Craver into action. Kenny Wilkerson hinted something in the broadcast tonight about the Saints being interested in a cornerback for the Denver Broncos named Patrick Gaines (<--is that right?) out of Fresno State. He played with David Carr, that\'s about all I know. He might have mispoken because I couldn\'t find any player by that name on NFL.com. Does anyone know anything else about this?

Thanks for the info. Patrick gaines does sound familiar but can\'t place him. I think if Craver can do the job, then more power to him. I\'m more concerned about a backup running back, though i\'ve not had the chance to see any of them but Terry Allen, and we know how accident prone he is. Hopefully someone will step up and be a solid back for us.

Scratch that. Patrick Gaines is a running back that nobody\'s heard of, not a cornerback that nobody\'s heard of.

Funny thing is I have been watching this Al Harris play and caught my eye. Seems like he can be a beast! That boy can hit and put your lights out!
