And the achievements just keep piling up .......

Pretty good for a quarterback who was not good enough to fill in for an injured Brooks when the Saints had the chance to make the play offs .

"wow"Jake really won the QB Challenge...That says a lot? I don't know what yet. Didn't Plummer win it at some point? I guess since he couldn't win the Superbowl, winning the QB Challenge makes up for it.
Boy, you really are a Brooks lover. For some reason you have to attempt to down Jake winning the challenge? Let me guess, you CAN'T be from Louisiana. Right? Jake is better than your man crush, get over it. And this thread wasn't even about that. Don't be mad the front office went with the wrong guy. As the phrase goes, "Don't playa hate, congratulate."

RE: Re: RE: It

Oh yes - lets play this game again. It's one of my favorite.

Care to compare Jake's numbers last season to Brooks? Care to compare the rate at which each QB progressed from his first as a starter to his second? Care to compare winning percentage, playoff appearances, Super Bowl appearances? Attitude, leadership, commitment, heart????

Please make your argument why AB is a better QB than Jake. I'd love to "discuss" it with you. LOL

Boy, playa hate? that's a new style for you did you just come from the hood?! slumming with the help? I don't think the Saints think they made a mistake keeping AB, instead of Jake quite frankly i'm pretty well sure, and last I checked our team (led by AB) sent your boy Jake home without his lunch, last January. Ooh let me guess they has soo many inujries, Jake the field General should be heads and shoulders above AB and the last ranked defense to overcome this."Right"?
I don't think
Nuff said.

the Saints think
Oxymoron.

Oh he did. Unless you don't think better numbers ACROSS THE BOARD than AB is overcoming losing both RBs, your number one receiver, and half your offensive line. In case you missed it the first 50 times I said it, the Panthers had to play max protect the entire second half of the season and Jake still smoked AB stat wise. It's not even close. And get this: Jake had less pass attempts, a worse running game, a worse O-line, yet still had more TDs and more yards than AB in a MAX PROTECT OFFENSE. Just give it up.

Compare that to, the Saints versus the Vikins in the Playoffs.
Let's compare that to Panthers verses the Pats in the superbowl. No running game and defense getting stomped on, Jake throws three Tds and no INTs and would have been the game MVP had a kicker known not to boot the kickoff out of bounds. Jake wins again. Unless you think a playoff game against the Vikes is more important than a Superbowl against the Pats, a dynasty.

Is Jake the only QB to play with a banged-up team? did Jake win? what will the excuses be this year for Jake? mass protect that!
No he wasn't, but no team was as hurt as the Panthers were last year with injuries to starters. And I am sorry, but Jake doesn't need excuses. He does his job regardless. It's your boy they have to make excuses for every year and have 5th round QBs drafted and instantly have fans calling for them to start over him. Oh, it was the line, and the defense, and the receivers, and the sun was in his eye, and he feels bad cause he gets booed and blah blah blah. Nope, I don't hear those excuses for Jake. As a matter of fact, despite the injuries he said he should have played better than 29 TDs, 15 INts, and 3880 yards. We get, "I am a great QB on a struggling team." Jake wins again. So, just give it up.

I don't think that's right. Injuries to starters? I know McNair, and Brown was out a couple of games. Who else did they lose that was a starter? I tried to make it clear I was speaking of starters only. But it could be. Hmm, well if the Panthers weren't first, they were second. But again, we are talking about injuries to starters right?

Halo --

Could we open up yet another forum...this time we could call it the "Deciples of Jake" Forum so that folks that wanna come to a Saints Web Site and prop up another team's QB have a place all their own to do it?

Just a thought.

.. the QB challenge is merely a promotional venue for both the NFL and EA, and there is really not much translation between it and a football game..

... that said, after 5 years, I still don't get the animosity towards Jake Delhomme...

... from the "he'll be an eternal clipboard holder in the NFL" -circa 2000, when he actually was a Saint and Aaron Brooks was still in Green Bay- to now ...

..BonB, didn't you win the QB challenge in 2003, or was it just the long throw competition?
