Fun facts: Since legalizing marijuana in Washington and Colorado, the Broncos & Seahawks ...
^^^ Ooops, may have been a little hasty with my previous observation ... anyone notice which two teams participated in SuperBowl XLVIII?
... sometimes I feel just like Nostradamus on these boards,Posted 03-30-2014 at 05:12 AM by SloMotion -

Also, it apparently only works during the regular season & not the playoffs..

Fun facts: Since legalizing marijuana in Washington and Colorado, the Broncos & Seahawks ...
If pot gets legalized, the NCAA will have to ask LSU to leave and join the NFL. Just think, no more losing 1/4 of the team annually to pot smoking!Posted 01-08-2013 at 02:50 PM by Halo -
Fun facts: Since legalizing marijuana in Washington and Colorado, the Broncos & Seahawks ...
, yeah, I'm not advocating the large scale legalization of marijuana, but as a long suffering Lions' fan, if you had told me the team would have went on an 8-0 tear after voting for it, I'd of been on board.

Could former Saints practice-squad player be the next Jeremy Lin?
Best #2 back in the NFL for 2012/2013. Way to tough it out, Joquie.Posted 01-07-2013 at 06:58 AM by SloMotion -
Lomas Brown: I intentionally missed block to get Scott Mitchell hurt
... and after all the hub-bub ... nothing. No 'beer summit' at the White House, no follow-up story on Lomas & Mitchell reconciling. My worst suspicions have been confirmed.Posted 01-07-2013 at 06:56 AM by SloMotion -
Lomas Brown: I intentionally missed block to get Scott Mitchell hurt
I agree, this is likely a tall tale by Lomas and an attention-grab. I wish there were less and less former players in the broadcast chair, because there all just freakshows now. with the occasional exception like Trent Dilfer. I really don't give a rats' butt what Magic Johnson says about the Lakers now because it's 2013, not 1988.Posted 01-04-2013 at 03:31 PM by neugey -
Lomas Brown: I intentionally missed block to get Scott Mitchell hurt
I appreciate his honest...but my opinion of him, his career recognitions, all of it now has to be brought into question...including his Madden Awards...Posted 01-02-2013 at 04:51 PM by jeanpierre -
Could former Saints practice-squad player be the next Jeremy Lin?
UPDATE:
Well, it hasn't exactly been "Bell-Sanity", but after Wk #14 and a 4-9 Lions record, a 5.4yds per carry rushing/9.7yds per reception average AND NO INJURIES, Joquie Bell has provide the Lions with something they haven't seen in a long time, a halfway decent, durable running back to compliment Matthew Stafford. Consistently noted as one of the pleasant surprises (not to this blogger, eh?) of the season.
Keep up the good work, JB!Posted 12-14-2012 at 07:22 AM by SloMotion -
MythBusters; Ndamukong Suh Edition
Since this posting & to his credit, Suh has put together several game performances in keeping with his rookie season. Unfortunately, the Lions still lost and I think this may reflect the crux of the matter. Suh is an individual and might have a hard time performing at a high-level as the member of a team ... just an observation.Posted 12-14-2012 at 07:04 AM by SloMotion -

Should you draft a Detroit Lion for your fantasy team?
UDATE: (on the defense)
It was brought to my attention that the Lions defense led the league last season in pick-sixes with 5 and something about doing well in the 'turnovers gained by defense' & 'QB sacks' departments and that they were actually a pretty good fantasy pick ... IDK, I admittedly don't fully understand the whole fantasy-football concept, but if that's all they're going to rate the defense by, maybe they're worth a look for your defense, but you'll probably have to pick up a different defense for the playoffs, eh? ... IDK, it's still living dangerously if you ask me ... they make a lot of mental mistakes.Posted 08-31-2012 at 10:24 AM by SloMotion

Should you draft a Detroit Lion for your fantasy team?
Quote:I've had him in the past... that's why I think he's going to surprise you. I think he's underrated catching passes out the backfield and running the football. He's still only 25 and was a very good college player. Detroit's pass happy field stretching offense should benefit Smith a great deal imo. There should be a lot of holes to run through and he's now a full year off ACL injury. His explosiveness should slowly creep back..

I'd be interested in hearing from people who have had Kevin Smith on their FF teams in the past and how it worked out for them, good or bad.Posted 08-14-2012 at 08:04 AM by SloMotion -
Should you draft a Detroit Lion for your fantasy team?
I had Pettigrew on my team last year and I didn't even realize he finished with that many receptions. Should be a great value pick especially in a PPR.
I think Kevin Smith will surprise you Slo. Hopefully he can stay healthy.Posted 08-13-2012 at 12:25 PM by papz -

Picking from the Lions roster for your FF team is not for the faint of heart, but there are a few gems there ... give Pettigrew, Scheffler & Hanson a good look and don't rule out Burleson, Young & Broyles ... Detroit is going to come out throwing once again this season. Running back is a crapshoot, I'm hoping Joquie Bell is able to help & the 'Leshoure expirement' pans out, but I wouldn't touch a Detroit RB if I was drafting for FF.Posted 08-10-2012 at 06:51 AM by SloMotion
