Lady Godiva Goes NuTz

I live with a chocolate Labrador retriever named Lady Godiva. Lady is a dog that was found wandering around after Hurricane Katrina. She was sent to the dog pound twice, I eventually saved her from certain death at the pound. That is in and of itself an entirely different blog for another time.
As a lab, she's practically semi-aquatic. Labs have webbed feet and swim like fish. She doesn't get much from playing fetch per se, although she likes it, she really likes to go swimming.
Lady and I used to walk 2 blocks down to the Mississippi River everyday so she could swim during the summer. I had to stop bringing her there because the River is really dirty, and I mean like old medical needles and sewage dirty so we had to stop going. Lady soon became really bummed out and this past winter she and I got into some pretty bad domestic arguments over the whole thing. Once the cops were called because she put her paws to my throat. It got pretty ugly.
Then I came up with this great idea, instead of Lady of the Mississippi River, maybe she could be Lady of the LAKE! So we packed up and started going to play fetch at Ponchartrain Lake.
Now we go about 4 times a week and we love it. Only problem is Lady Godiva is nuts. I mean she like jumps into the Lake and swims around like she owns the thing. Even with hurricanes, squalls, typhoons, tsunami's, galactic nebula's etc. Lady Godiva believes she can jump in and start swimming all over the place, even while the waves are coming over the sea board.
Below are some videos of Lady Godiva Gone WILD! She's fetching and the waves and water are way too high. While I'm taping this, I'm moving back and forth to avoid the splash of waves hitting the seaboard and splashing all over the place. ENJOY!

Cool stuff. Of course after the first video I would've changed it up some instead of playing fetch in each one. U can tell she loves the water though. Should buy her a mini pool for the backyard.

If you guy want a road trip, go to the north shore. As you get of the bridge look to the left and you will seee a nice area of beach. Its in old golden shore. I use to take all my dogs over there as a kid. good place to let them run.

The problem was trying to show exactly how WILD the water was. Most of the time I was humming that stick out there and the wind was practically blowing it back in my face. Winds were ultra high. I don't think I could swim in that water. It's hard to show on these videos. I was being blow backward and the dog was casually jumping in. LOL

i think ive been around that area..looks familiar. Went fishing with uncle and cousin near there. the name is familiar aswell. Water was bad then too. No fish. If course where u were had a shallow area....where i was didn't have one...its like one step off that ledge and u swimming with the fishes.

She's that happy with a puddle of MUD which, by the way, she will try to swim a puddle of mud. LOL
