At 10:30am BlackandGold.com broke the story that the New Orleans Saints have signed long time Saints runningback Deuce McAllister a day before the NFC Divisional Playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The signing is a huge boost in morale to all Saints fans as Deuce was not resigned for the 2009 season but remained a fan favorite.
"WWL Radio, WDSU, as well as NOLA.com are reporting that the New Orleans Saints have signed running back Deuce McAllister to the active roster.
Not much is known about this situation at the time so there will surely be more to come as the day goes on. Sources currently say that recently signed defensive tackle Rodney Leisle was cut to make room for Deuce." - Danny Cox From The Examiner
At 11:47pm, Mike Triplett posted on NOLA.com "League sources have confirmed that the New Orleans Saints have signed Deuce McAllister, one of the most popular players in team history.
In seven seasons with the Saints McAllister rushed for 6,069 yards and 49 touchdowns and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. To make room for McAllister, the Saints placed defensive tackle Rodney Leisle to injured reserve."
