Lou Holtz Watch #1
Posted 09-25-2008 at 06:33 PM by Halo
Watching and listening to ESPN Saturday Football analyst Lou Holtz is worse than a peet moss style diarrhea hangover from an over exposed Chinese Buffet, or drinking a case of 10 year old Natural Light Beer.
Holtz was a person I casually respected for his accomplishments in football as a Coach mostly at Notre Dame where he would recruit tough players (like Jerome Bettis and more) and churned out some sometime impressive wins and his share of championships. Even though Notre Dame played as an "independent" and their competition was questionable at times, I have to admit things were never the same at the old ND after Lou left.
We all know Lou wasn't good at South Carolina, but watching the younger ole ball coach Steve Spurrier struggle at that SEC school tells me that maybe it's hard to recruit at South Carolina... maybe it wasn't all Lou's fault?
THE BEEF
Lou Holtz being added to the ESPN lineup is a disaster and an embarrassment. The crap and predictions that spew from this man's mouth are laughable at best. I firmly believe the guy has lost his mind. There MUST have been people behind him at Notre Dame that made it happen because I disagree with almost everything he says. He sounds like an ignorant moron.
DOUBLE BEEF
It's hard to get an unbiased prediction from ESPN Saturday because of BS laced predictions from old sand bags like Lou. It's amazing how he "man-touches" Pete Carroll and the USC trojans so much after being the coach of Notre Dame for so long. Were they not rivals?
OH did I mention Notre Dame? Well apparently according to Lou only USC is better than the Irish at almost any point during a season, or overall. Lou Holtz is a jerk.
TRIPLE BEEF
My main complaint is Lou's total and complete disrespect for LSU - a team with 2 National titles in the 2000's, and has more SEC wins against the SEC than any other team in the country. It's clear that LSU was risen when Saban arrived, and has done nothing but become a premier football program in American Football since Les Miles arrived.
Ok yes, I'm an LSU grad and an LSU fan, but I'm not a moron like Lou Holtz. Give me a break.
If asked, Lou Holtz would pick my Chocolate Labrador Retriever to beat LSU any given Saturday in a head-to-head football match up.
And did I mention that Lou believes the SEC isn't such an impressive conference? I'm not even going to go there, but if you look at the top 20, or TOP 10, it's littered with SEC teams and over rated BIG 10 blunders... like Illinois at some points. COME ON- Illinois?
Lou Holtz is a royal pain in the arse and because his opinions are skewed and totally biased toward 1 moron pal of his or another, Lou makes this bloggers' list of the top 5 most annoying analysts of all time.
Bottom Of The Bun
Lou has picked LSU to lose in so many games, it's sick. Don't even ask me about the BCS Championship last season, Lou categories a potential LSU victory as "impossible" against a hapless Ohio State team that looked non-competitive and like garbage. PUKE!
ECU
Let me ask this to anyone who reads this, who cares about East Carolina? Our hometown Green Wave almost beat them in week 2 and ECU got "ate up" by NC State this past weekend.
Why are or were they ranked? Because Lou Holtz's son coaches there? COME ON PEOPLE!
Personally I hope ECU loses out because of Lou.
LSU vs. Auburn
Lou predicted that the Auburn's QB would rise to the occasion and stomp LSU this past weekend. He looked at 2 untested teams, and again whipped the pendulum to any other team but LSU. Auburn almost lost to Mississippi State the week before, a team proving itself to have problems, and somehow the Auburn team was to find it's niche against the defending National Champions LSU. Give me a break.
Lou, I'm starting a "watch" on you. You give me DRIZZLY POOP WITH YOUR BS! :machinegun:

You rarely see the media ride LSU's coat tail as they do USC and Ohio State over the years... even after 2 National Championships. They all picked tOSU to stomp on the Tigers last year and we all saw what happened. USC over the past 3 years... loses to Oregon State, Stanford, and Oregon State. Enough said.
It's a given the SEC is the best conference... why they continue to call USC and Ohio State the best team in NCAA football boggles my mind. I don't mind being in the shadows... but enough with "They're the best team ever!" BS every single year.Posted 09-26-2008 at 10:22 AM by papz -
