Re: Braves Fans Speak Up!

Ernie, Skip, and Pete. I loved those guys, and I learned a lot about baseball from listening to them...Joe and Don came later, and then Chip, Skip's son.

They were pro Braves, but I always thought they were fair.

The Giants use to be in their division...thusly I tuned in when they were playing the Giants. I guess it's been that long.

I have really lost interest in baseball over the last few years. I wasn't too crazy about the way the league handled something that they knew was going on and turned their backs on. I especially hated the way everybody crucified Barry Bonds.

I have very little interest in the Giants nowadays but maybe Tim Lincecum can change things back to the way they use to be.

I recall the Giants leading the division. The Braves obtained Fred McGriff. Dusty Baker proclaimed Fred wasn't going to be enough. He wasn't worried about the Braves. On Fred's first night in Atlanta, the press box caught fire, literally, and Skip and the crew broadcast that came on live TV from the stands. Atlanta went on a roll and ultimately overtook the Giants that year.

'member? LOL

I do. I don't know if it was the same year...but I also remember that the Giants had a sizable lead and blew it. That was a berry, berry bitter pill to swallow.

Surprisingly Zephyrs which is a very bad Minor League team has a pretty strong following, the kids absolutely love it, and it's a way for kids to get outside and enjoy something so Parents encourage that by buying season tickets most enjoy the game while some just enjoy watching their kids have fun, plus tickets are pretty cheap so it's an affordable way to spend time with fam..

If they were any good i have no doubt you'd see Zepher stickers and T-shirts all over the place but eh..
I think New Orleans should court a MLB team, i thought at one point it was doing that with Montreal but i don't know what happened with that.

I wonder what the East will be like this year eh? Bobby's last year? I smell me some destiny! LOL
Wow, small world. Born in 1976, grew up on Leesville - Mom, Aunt & 3 cousins graduated from LHS (Wampus Cats) and my parents met at Fort Polk. Our house was divided between the Astros and Braves. The early 80's is when I really took to Murphy, Horner, Hubbard, Perry, Oberkfell, Bedrosian, etc...

Had a huge Dale poster on my wall.

Here's a little walk down memory lane.
